I live in Chicago and this could work here. What you mean is that it couldn't work for people who live in the suburbs of these cities, not the cities themselves.
I had a heck of a time trying to get this to work on Ubuntu and was the main reason I can't use Linux on a daily basis. There was some ways to get it to work last year, but none of them ever worked for me. Does anyone know if this will work on Linux now?
It's a big country, but over 90% of their population lives within a certain distance of the ocean. They are big, but they are clustered which should make installing this easier.
Also, how does a government start a private company?
This works right up until someone figures out how to send them for free. And then all I've got is a smaller bank account and an inbox with the same amount of spam.
How is allowing users to download for free able to compete with free pirated versions? Maybe it's not free, but it doesn't state how much (if anything) it costs for this service...
Years ago, they came out with a device that was good for its time. It was a dust-buster doing a random walk.
Now they're on their 5th generation model. And it's a slightly better dust-buster which does a random walk. But it talks.
Were there some smart people there at first and they all left?
Why have they produced so little in all this time?
They make a Scooba that "mops" your floor, a model that cleans your pool (2nd generation), a Looj model that cleans gutters, along with their stuff they make for military.
I'd say they still have some smart people there.
"(Silicon Alley Insider recently calculated that the New York Times could save more than $300 million a year by shutting down its presses and buying every subscriber a Kindle)."
Except the Kindle 2 doesn't do color. Also, they assume there would be no costs for distributing newspaper electronically. I'm not saying it wouldn't be cheaper, but their analysis is way off.
The article states 641 stations are shutting off, but the summary incorrectly states 691.
That it doesn't say is if I should get my pitchfork and torch out.
This is not to view ESPN.com, but instead ESPN360.com, which televises live television not available on the TV. It's just an extra incentive for ISPs to advertise, but I'm sure most people aren't even aware. The summary makes it seems like it is the whole site.
It's probably some sort of knock against Linux in that they are producing a product they can bash themselves, and in turn bash Linux and Netbooks in general.
I bet there is a way to unlock that 3 programs if you actually wanted to.
Microsoft are cutting up to 5,000 from a total of 90,000 employees - 5.5% of its workforce.
IBM might cut 16,000 from a workforce of 387,000, a cut of 4%.
Intel are cutting up to 6,000 from a workforce of 84,000 - 7% of jobs.
Microsoft is only cutting 2000 to 3000 though in the long run. And the cuts will take over 18 months. They are getting rid of 1800 today, which will be the bulk of their layoffs. The rest is basically getting rid of bloat in one department to hire in another. It's not much of a net loss after today.
Actually job cuts are popular on Wall Street. It's bad for the economy on a whole, but Wall Street cheers those decisions in general since it is belt-tightening and usually helps earnings.
In this situation either you are actually drunk while driving, in which case you are a complete jerk and deserve to be locked up, or you are not drunk, in which case you'd save yourself a lot of unnecessary hassle if you just take the test. So your advice is only useful to the guilty trying to evade justice. Therefore, you are a TERRORIST!
I think you are over generalizing. There could easily be a case where you are over the legal limit and able to drive perfectly fine, but not drunk.
Plus, you could easily be found guilty even if you haven't had a drop. My brother got pulled over and he hadn't drank a drop. He was in Chicago and was near Soldier Field when the game let out. He made a left hand turn where a cop didn't want him to (they were moving traffic in a specific direction), to go home and they gave him a road-side test. He was supposed to walk some line and follow the officers hand without blinking and standing on one foot while in -20 degree temperatures and high winds. Even a normal person might have blinked or gotten a little wobbly. Luckily they let him go.
This was totally not in the article...

Better is simply a perspective.

Are we supposed to know what the "3 strikes and you're out" rule is? I see no explanation of this law.
Where do I sign up?

That stuff is delicious!

According to the article, you can turn this "feature" off within your Google settings. You don't have to disable cookies or be a technical user.

So what? Do you know how many vice presidents Microsoft employs? If it's anything like a bank, the title is rather meaningless.

Poor economies, where no one's giving raises, are a great time to be a slacker.
Umm... right up until you lose your job.
You have a point, but in the end it wouldn't have mattered who Iowa voted for anyway.

Turn them in for a reward. It's win-win.
Sounds like they need to do some hiring and help out with this recession. I'm only partially kidding...
And what does this have to do with Sarah Palin exactly? The title of the story didn't need her name in it, nor is this even news.
