I'd also bet my last pound that more people have been killed by the war than would have been killed by Saddam and Bin Laden combined, even if they had both lived to be 200.
I agree that the 3rd point is probably small when it comes to games but I'd be interested to know how large a factor it is in music though. I once purchased an album that had retarded DRM to the point that I couldn't play it in my PC/transfer to my iPod so I downloaded it. This would probably be included as a "lost sale" in the RIAA's figures.
Spending that much on games is perfectly reasonable but the idea that piracy causes every single person that owns a handheld to buy 3 less games per year seems a little farfetched. I don't have any stats to back me up but I'm going to guess that the average DS owner isn't very tech-savvy and wouldn't know how to pirate a game. The figures are probably inflated due to a relatively small group of people who pirate nigh on every single game that is released, in every language that it is released in. I'd be willing to bet money on the number of DS owners who have never pirated anything being well over 90%. I'm not so sure about PSP but I'd imagine the figure would still be well over 80%.
I can actually see RyanAir doing this. They would justify it by saying that allowing passengers to wear clothes is a "premium service" as they require stricter checking.
Diapers are for amateurs. I have a keyboard macro to keep spamming heals on the tank for the 30 seconds or so it takes me to run to the toilet, shit, wipe my arse and get back. The skill is knowing when this is possible.
"Rounding out the top 10 were Rachel from "Friends"..."
What the fuck? Off all the characters in Friends she is probably the most boring and least funny. Monica may just beat her but not by a lot.
So here is a music-industry one.
This is a bit like the Beatles attempting to copyright the concept of music made by a band comprised of a lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass and drums, rather than their songs.
I browse 4chan occasionaly. My computer is never ever ever seing the inside of a repair shop. The biggest threat I pose to children is that I'd probably teach them naughty words but tell them that they mean perfectly normal things.
We look at places like Darfur and are horrified by the use of rape as a weapon against populations but when it is used as a threat, a disincentive to commit crimes that could lead to imprisonment, we laugh about it and consider it a good deterrent. On a side note I have been told that prison rape is nowhere near as common as one would think.
From TFA "Marianne’s newly-discovered object is probably the result of the merger of two smaller black holes. Supercomputer models suggest that the larger black hole that results is shot out away at high speed, depending on the direction and speed in which the two black holes rotate before their collision."
So we could potentially have any number of billion+ solar mass black holes hurtling around the universe at considerable fractions of the speed of light. That will not help me sleep at night.
I agree with this. I'd be reluctant to play a free MMO simply because cost acts as a barrier to keep certain undesirables out of my gameplay experience. There will always be the odd few 11 year old death knights with their parents credit cards doing 600dps in full T9 but imagine how horriffic it would be were the game free to play.
I felt that way about the Wheel of Time series. I managed to make it to about half way through the 4th book before giving up. I'm told it gets even more plodding around the 8th book or so. The last book of Stephen Donaldson's Gap series dragged hugely too but I managed to get through that. I've never managed to finish reading The Last Battle. It's a shame because I quite liked the Narnia series as a kid.
I'd still vote for him over Bush.
So you're saying that in all likelihood, the number of Iraqi children killed in the war is OVER 9000?
I'd also bet my last pound that more people have been killed by the war than would have been killed by Saddam and Bin Laden combined, even if they had both lived to be 200.
So a bit like our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Handwipes, next to desk.

And just because I know how the slashdotter mind works: STAT is short for statim, latin for immediately.
Fat people *do* live shorter lives, but relativity has very little to do with it.
I'd better hurry up and spit in a bag and post it to myself as evidence of prior art.

Aliens probably exist? Note: by "exist" I do not mean "visit us".
I doubt that argument counts for much as none of the crimes he could reasonably be accused of carry the death penalty.

Sir, let me direct you to TFA. It's the text at the top of the page that is underlined.
There are still people that play that pile of crap?
Surely I can't be the only person who LOVED Freddy Got Fingered? Yes it was extremely juvenile but that was sort of the point.

Socialist libertarian? Isn't that a bit like being a christian athiest?
