Just because you say it was replaced, doesn't mean it doesn't fit his needs.

Yeah, I lost a big of/.karma because of it, but oh well. I thought the story I was responding to made it obvious enough for my sarcasm to carry through. Maybe my Slashdot-social comment hit the mark though, since many people didn't catch the sarcasm.
Common foe, eh? Were my last name Bush, I'd automatically make you my friend.;)
NOBODY knew if it was accidental or intentional. Granted the second plane seriously reduced the possibility of accident and the Pentagon clinched it. But Don't forget somewhere in there a plane crashed in a field as well and nobody was real sure what had happend there. As clear as it all has become now, it was confusing as hell when it happend.
How naive can you possibly act? One plane hits a building, it could possibly be assumed an accident. (except the FAA knew the plane was off course) Two planes hit a building in the same hour and you know it is not an accident. Especially when the two planes hit a building in the same city, and super-ultra-especially when the buildings are twin towers standing next to each other.
<sarcasm>...then again I guess scrambling jets to intercept a golfer's private jet that is off course is much more important than scrambling jets to intercept four passenger jetliners that are all off course at the same time.</sarcasm>
This is one of the most annoying things about Mac OS X. The really annoying part is when an OS update includes updates to some applications and rather than overwriting the copy that one has reorganized into a subfolder (perhaps/Applications/Accessories/) it drops a new copy into/Applications/ and leaves the other copy in its location. Some updates work properly as they should, but it seems that Apple consistently reverts to always updating in the/Applications/ folder only. I'm guessing the logic must go in each update script.
Perhaps Apple needs to include a framework for handling this in future revisions.
Yes, NeXT does == Apple. Apple bought NeXT in 1997 to base their next OS (Mac OS X) off of NeXTSTEP. Steve Jobs came back over from NeXT as part of the purchase and a few years later became Apple's CEO.
My point was that Carmack likes Macs and will release Doom 3 for them. At least Id makes a profit off of the Mac releases unlike Linux.
The best way to combat the RIAA is through iTunes' new iMix feature. Create indie mixes and rate indie mixes so that people will easily be able to identify good music that doesn't benefit the RIAA.
I'm fairly certain all of the music on these are indie. If not, let me know. But, more importantly, respond to this message with links to other indie-only iMixes!
Here is his list of requirements:

Computers in school aren't there to teach children how to use computers. They're there as a learning aid.
This'll meet your requirements.

Being a bit self-centered aren't you?
That's because you pay for a bunch of crap you don't watch.
Yeah, I was being sarcastic. I consider the unix and GNU/Linux clients for Xgrid giving back.
Yeah, everyone on /. says Apple is so great. But they just rip stuff off from the open source community. When is Apple going to give something back?
A few companies have already been started based off of this idea.
Safari 1.2.2 and OmniWeb 5 beta 7 load sets of them in parallel.
PowerBooks aren't white. :) They're aluminum.
AAC and MP3 are standard, not proprietary. I didn't bring the question of free or open into this.
Mail won't load images for any mail that had been identified as junk mail unless the user tells it to.
Now you know why you shouldn't use proprietary formats for archival use.
Don't you know that Microsoft makes Office 2004 for Macintosh?
PearPC doesn't even support OpenGL acceleration via the video card.
I better thing for these few users to do is to rename the applications or back them up.

What was the typo? You're kind of light on details -- it seems odd that a typo is what did it.
