You're missing the obvious fact that DoS attacks are free speech in themselves. The only reason recent DDoS attacks have been outside of the law is because they were launched from compromised systems. (or at least, that is how it should be)
Square and Sony Pictures are going to do quite well with Final Fantasy. The animation is top-notch. Much better than what I saw in A Bug's Life. I'd say Pixar will get a big run for their money once Final Fantasy is released.
Just when I was thinking about buying an iBook or a G4. I don't want to buy one and have The Pharoh's New Groove (or whatever it's called) trailers pushed to me every time a new one is released!...or even worse, have new desktop backgrounds pushed to me with a new sickening Disney movie theme every week.
Please, say it ain't so! It's bad enough that Disney has so much pull where Pixar movies are concerned. Toy Story and A Bug's Life would be such much better without that crappy Disney 'musician'!

What is your point? I didn't say Blizzard should release Diablo 2 exclusively on DVD-ROM. Of course it should also be available on CD-ROM for people of your... kind.:)
At any rate, Diablo 2 for the Macintosh went gold over the weekend. Blizzard expects it to hit the shelves by the end of July.
...and I bought Diablo on 3 CD-ROMs... shame on me.
John, isn't Microsoft talking about (memory, processor) upgrades for the X-Box? That would eliminate the fixed platform advantage. That, along with the off-the-shelf design of the X-Box are keeping me away from it.
I think that Sony will keep the PS2 as a fixed platform, perhaps with the exception of some peripherals. This is what I want in a console! Something that I don't have to worry about upgrading to play x game on it.
The Win2k kernel is loaded from the disc? That would mean your emulator would have to be able to emulate whatever changes have occured to the different kernels that are on the discs of many different games. Sound like a good way to sacrifice load-time for the gain of a harder to emulate system and a decent hidden upgrade path.
Why did Blizzard only release Diablo 2 on 3 CD's? DVD-ROM drives are probably on 95% of all new computers. I'm not so sure I want to get it on 3 CD's... swap, swap, swap. I'd rather just have a DVD.
What improvements does Icewind Dale have over Baldur's Gate? I know it uses BG's engine, but I'm hoping some improvements were made to the engine as well. If enough were made, I may get Icewind Dale.

It's impossible to prove that a rumor of this sort is not true. You can only prove that it is true, or suggest that it is not true.

Anytime you see the word merge, replace it with buy.
Example: (press) NationsBank merged with BankAmerica to create Bank of America.
(reality) NationsBank bought BankAmerica to create Bank of America.

Not that I don't like Pixar.

Target Quake is pretty much what you're discribing, I would think. Except it doesn't have cute graphics like Commander Keen did.

I did get Diablo 2 to work by installing the latest GeForce 256 driver on my computer.

I have two computers currently setup at home.
(1) 600MHz P3 w/ 128MB RAM & GeForce 256
(2) 233MHz P2 w/ 96MB RAM & Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
Diablo 2 doesn't f'ing work on #1!!! I run through the two logos and the opening movie, and get 'static' instead of the main menu.
It runs fine on #2. Damn, WTF?!? Anyone else have this problem?

I'd love to see a low-cost Painter for Linux (or even Windows), it'd be enough to make me finally install Linux again for the first time in 5 years.
