    the supernova is still getting brighter, and might even be visible with good binoculars in ten days’ time, appearing brighter than any other supernova of its type in the last 30 years.

    SN 1987A was a Type II supernova, this one ist Type Ia.

    You are right about the Earth's belt, but wouldn't it be possible to find similar belts around bigger space objects with stonger magnetic field and 'mine' them for anti-matter? No idea, how to size of the belt scales with the strenth of the magnetic field of the object, though.

    Infrastructure spread thin? Your speeds and costs are direct result of the lack of competition in the US ISP market. Here, on the right side of the ocean nobody can even remember the time, when the internet was volume limited or when you had to pay for it more than 20-25 euro.

    But hey, what do I know? I'm sure your problem is not the greedy corps trying screw you over, but the poor cloging your tubes...

    As far as i understood, Instant Pages not only prefetch the top-hit in your search, but also renders the page in background.     Is the difference between goverment agencies (as in case of the "Chinese" hacking gMail) and loosly organised individuals really that hard to graps? Basically, it's "induvidual people attracking centrilised organisations = good", "centralised organisation attacking individual people = bad".

    While may be a valid point about resource waste, kW (or hp) are not the right unit of measurement for energy (PROTIP: Joule is).

    Besides, it's hard to compare the energy used by electromotors and humans, because a human can't live neither from nuclear energy, nor from coal. Since electrical motors can have incredibly high efficiency, its doesn't HAVE to be a waste to have powerful electrical cars.

    A bit off-topic, but couldn't resist after reading all these comments.

    With test designed to be normal distributed around 100 with 15-16 SD, you'd expect less people having scores over 150. In fact I don't think i've ever seen ANYONE on the internet clayming his IQ to be below 100. I guess being able to type OTI really makes you more intelligent than half of the peoples. I really hope there is another explanation...

    You are probably right about European belief about copyright being a natural right, although i didn't think it was much different in the USA, seeing how copyright infrigement is always equated to thievery, both in Europe and in the US.

    But i never met a person who'd think US works should somehow be treated differently. There is, of cause, a certain aversion to the US meddling in EU's affairs, but it come rather from....well, the US melddling in EU affairs, rather than anything other ;)

    I completely agree, that people who risk their lives to save others are nothing else but heroes.

    What I am confused about is what made such an act of heroism nessesary.     So now these workers (maybe) giving up their health or more, because someone wanted to make some more money. And what if things go completely fubar? There isn't even a way to punish a corporation for such a behaviour, because the damage is almost always higher than anyone can pay for.

    Bonus: it preserves the spirit of the original a little bit better than the Last Ring-bearer, IMHO.
