    My name is three characters long and I have to spell it out to people, even though pronounced it's grammatically correct they add an extra t to the end of it the few times they hear what I say.

    At least when Peter Sunde got famous I could stop spelling out my last name... bloody Sweeds.

    I much rather vote for an ideology than a person, people are fallable as we get reminded of time and again. We (Sweeds) get to vote for parties (optionally people in parties) though.

    In a real democracy the opposition can be far more than 49% when there is more than two of them. The difference is that every now and again America gets it's panties in a bunch and decides to invade a country despite not having permission from anyone to do so or decides to overthrow an government by funding revolutionaries. The rest of the world reacting to Americas policy's is a matter of self defense at this point, don't fool yourself into thinking it's because half the people respectfully disagree as you re-elect the loonies for a second term.

    Maybe people realized that putting your name on the Internet doesn't mean people will show up at your doorstep and rape you. Also now that hundreds of millions of people (billions?) on the Internet there's plenty of people who share the same name.

    Except for me because someone thought it was a good idea to name me after an American comic book character, an old-Swedish middle name and a Norwegian lastname. Thanks!

    The only thing I'm really worried about is a potential future employer googling me and finding drunken rant of mine (as to say I'd tell the employer I was drunk at the time..).

    I installed ruby on windows for the first time today with the windows one click installer, it worked like magic.

    I don't see how strawberry perl is particularly hard to install I even think it's easier to use on windows as it doesn't keep nagging you about internet access when I grab something of CPAN.

    Then there's vbscript and jscript interpreters built into windows already.

    I've yet to install python but I expect it to be as equally easy. I think you might be way of base on that point.

    I run Ubuntu as my desktop OS.

    Wow, someone should be fired. Preferably the entire line of people who knew about how low and where those planes would be flying didn't stop and think for one second, but more realistically the person who instigated the e-mail notification.

    This is one of those cases where leaking to the press should be considered a good thing.

    When the databases leak (and they all leak, who are we kidding here) at least with the government I'm more convinced it's due to incompetence rather than mallice.

    At least I've got the power to try and replace the people in charge of government every now and again. My only option with the ISP would be using a gun.

    Which might have been relevant if Australia didn't have lower energy consumption than the US (per capita) as does the United Arab Emirates.

    Places that have a higher (again per capita) consumption include Iceland, Norway, Finland and Canada

    You should be ashamed for modding parent up as he clearly is clueless about what it takes to be real party in a country with more than two parties.

    The pirate party has more members than three parties that currently has seats in parliament and might by the the end of the weekend have more than four of the seven. That's with a fair margin too as they got twise as many people as of two of them while *only* having 19,790 members in total. 3000 members out of 19,790 is quite a lot.

    Also due to the low voter turnout for the EU election the pirate party would need about 100,000 votes to get a mandate and I'm quite confident the 20,000 party members who care enough to take stand on the issue can bring those numbers in.

    Why wouldn't it be? They have to actually prove you've pirated something specific to get a verdict on you. It's not like people walk around with ID cards attached to their faces whilst the government sends in the police to write down who attended what party when. Then again I'm not sure what fascist country you live in.

    The only reason why these companies should be pissed is because it saves the users time, thereby possibly shorting their monthly subscription.

    Yeah, I only pay for two days of my monthly subscription.

    It smells alot like sudden "morality" of gambling, sex, and drugs. Governments don't want you to buy it unless you're buying it from them. Then it's A-Okay

    I wish my government would sell me sex and drugs, it's quite frustrating and highly inneficient having to troll 4chan to figure out where the back channels are. Judging from your insight, I guess the first step is to replace our current one with a game company.

    You won't find any Sweeds living in tent cities, people dropping out of college because they can't afford tuition or people not getting healthcare because they couldn't afford to pay their health insurance because they lost their jobs either. The recession is hitting the world hard but we take care of the ones who are down on their luck.

    I for one don't mind high taxes even if that mean I might not be as rich as I could have been in another country if it means I wouldn't have to be as poor as I could have been when my luck is down.
