Thanks to some comment links I finally downloaded the tarball.
I hope someone in CHINA is knowledgeable about this and can tell me though... Since I'll be moving to China in about 30 days, what is the best way to smuggle this software into the country ?? Will customs likely search my laptop harddrive, or my CD-R labeled 'Metallica' that actually has TriangleBoy burned on it ?? Or is that dangerous ground, and I should instead have my friend e-mail it to my pop3 once I arrive ??
Furthermore, does the program still work good -- and since I don't want to install it now, lest I leave traces on my machine, do I need any special ips to actually get it up and running ? Anything that I can take with me, written down in a secret code language so I can get it up and running ? I'll go crazy if I spend a year in China and can't read www.capitalismmagazine.com or the like!
Can you tell me what this 8' as opposed to 10' ceilings is in reference to ?? My parents are about to buy a house up in Toledo, which gives you the incredible feeling of being a 'child' again inside because the ceilings are really high like probably 10' everywhere... is there something important they should know ?
As per my anecdotal experience, I'd say forget about ever getting Chinese to work on any distro that isn't native 100% Chinese.
I've tried every fricking FAQ and HOWTO I can find, and have neither gotten Chinese or Japanese to ever work on Mandrake. Something always goes wrong, some insane problem that I don't even know what is wrong nor how to debug it. The only "support" I have then, is from the CXterm which is decent, but last I downloaded it was hard to find and seemingly about to disappear because of old age..
On the other hand I test installed TurboLinux (I think) or something, a Chinese distro straight out, and anyway it was BEAUTIFUL. Even the console terminals had Chinese support (though I couldn't use characters in my login:( ) Not to mention character support in every fricking X app, including Abiword and all the other billion others you'd probably have to specifically recompile for it on another disto.

I hope you will all give this one a seriously consideration before actually doing something against the company that is the epitome of greatness and capitalism. You can see very clearly from Jeremy's page what he really cares about:

How do *you* feel about it ? As if your feelings are some valid form of cognition, as if this represents *morality*. It is infact the anti-trust laws which are completely immoral, they paralyze a company who is constantly under threat that it *may* have broken the law by being TOO GOOD, but it can never know until after the fact. Imagine if the criminal law was like this: imagine if you were paralyzed realizing anything you did good could end up causing you to be sentenced to jail.
So please, before you do something stupid (like this guy) think about it, think about the immorality of the anti-trust laws. And then proceed to do the RIGHT thing: writing a letter supporting the achievements of Microsoft, and their right to exist and keep all the profit they have earned and DESERVE, by moral right.
