    It's about $185 on ebay. It will read the codes righ from the cars computer, let you reset the CEL (check engine light) and lots of other, more fun stuff, as well.

    Worth the $185, I think. But I like electronic toys, and cars, so electronic toys for cars are a double win for me. :)

    I'm not a NASCAR fan, but DO enjoy road racing (mostly F1).

    I participate in SCCA Autocross, and my first reaction to the "tweel" is that to change my tires handling characteristics, now, instead of adding or removing air, I have to change the whole tire. all 4 of them, even.

    However, "five times as much lateral stiffness as current pneumatic tires" would be sweet.

    About a month ago, it seems, the rolex spam started arrving, bypassing yahoo's spam filter, which is usually pretty good.

    What if a CD copy-protection system was developed, which did not compromise sound quality nor cause compatibility problems, and still allowed for your 'rights' to make a limited amount of personal copies (*.DRM)? UK-based company First 4 Internet (F4i) claims to have pulled this off

    That's what they* always claim, and they have not delivered yet.

    I still should be able to do what I want with a product I purchased, for personal use. That includes encoding it into the format of my choice, not thiers.

    I do, kinda.

    I "kick them down the line" to friends who just need a machine for email and stuff, and don't have the personal income to just go out and buy one (students, stoners, musicians :).

    Once upon a time, it was me on the recieving end of a free "new" machine, and I was very gratefull, so I figure it's my responsibility to keep it going.

    I thought I read somewhere that they are developing for Mac/Linux/Windows at the same time.

    Demo, probably, but not the "test release" like they had before Quake 3 came out. The focus of that test was the multiplayer code, and Doom 3 has a single player focus.

    id software's games are the only reason I buy new computers. Sure, I'll update my video card, or get a bigger hard drive, but as far a whole new system goes, it's just when id's new games come out.

    Quake 3 - new machine
    Wolfenstein - new machine
    Doom 3 - ordered new machine yesterday. (from endpcnoise.com - wife is complaining the 3 computers in the office are too loud. We'll see if thay are as good as they claim.)

    I wonder how much hardware worldwide id is responsible for selling?

    This program has been going on for years. TruSonic has been around since 2000. Mp3.com artists have been used as elevator music for over 3 years already.

    All that happened is that division of mp3.com called TruSonic got sold seperately from the rest of mp3.com.

    Maybe try reading the artist agreement before you give your music away.
