    If combined with a massively redundant combination of solar (ie, almost every building has em), hydro and nuclear, we're talking business. Left over power can be spent on hydrolysis plants to produce hydrogen fuel, and we have almost zero emissions.

    Even just in terms of the effects air pollution is having on the human population right now it's very expensive, apparently more people die from air pollution than automobile accidents.

    Don't monitor the exit node, no doubt anonymity tech such as onion skinning and the like are useful for moraly dubious things (file sharing, Lolita cartoon porn ), and morally repugnant things (child pornography, coordinating bombings or other attacks), but if just one person succeeds in undermining political censorship, then that justifies it's existence, in my opinion anyways.

    yea that situation is very stupid, but it is my opinion that these services, which have an enormous barrier to entry and like you say are wasteful to duplicate, would be better as public assets, or perhaps owned by a non-profit consortium. Perhaps your views aren't perfectly aligned with Classical Economics (this is a good thing :), but most Classical Economists reject the need for any kind of anti-trust laws.

    Um, they arent suggesting that this connection will be free, just that the telco monopolies will be forced to provide a reasonable level of service. Progressivism aside, why is it that classical-liberals, right-libertarians and conservatives seem to be blind to the simple concept of a monopoly?

    Your right, but there doesn't even need to be a boilerplate contract like a civil union, individual couples, triples and quads (and so on) all have individual needs and could solicit contracts on their own basis.

    I'm sorry that you struggle to accept the fact that not all information belongs in public view. Perhaps you can explain your position to me while you hand over your bank account numbers and routing codes.

    Don't be ridiculous, they just admitted they were hiding dirty secrets "political harm or embarrassment", and generally destroying political transparency, and that is corrupt and undemocratic. Also using your bank account analogy their job Is not just to protect their account number, but also to steal yours (they call this information gathering). and all without any public or even legal oversight into their actions.

    The point GP was making was that in the .\winsxs you have a situation where have a separate DLL for each app so as not to break compatibility, and this is definitely a situation where a static library would be superior.
