Thank you. I find things like this very upsetting. For instance, in order to save money (read: free up funds for $15.8 Billion in pork), the current budget proposed in the U.S. Congress had cuts for science funding, low-income education, environmental concerns, and other things.
NASA did get a boost; however, I wonder if that boost will go towards Star Wars II more than anything?
The main tower has two rounded arches (north and west) and two pointed ones (east and south).
The White House incorporated many different architectural styles as well, but it wasn't built over 6 centuries. (Every other window has either a rounded arch or pointed one over it, for example).
Please don't mod someone insightful if they can't bother to give adequate credit to the person who said the quote.
(Of course, in this case, there is no evidence that the person who supposedly stated the quote actually did (Voltaire), it is more than likely a summary of his point of view in Essay on Tolerance stated by another person).
The problem with throwing an ICBM into the air, is that everyone will know where it came from, and you'll have them coming right back at you.
Build a weapon inside the country you want to attack, set it off, never claim responsibility. Then no one knows who did or how to get them back for it.
These types of threats are a lot more scary than China or North Korea throwing nukes around. They know we'll just throw some back at them. When we don't know who attacked us; or it wasn't a country, but a small group of people scattered around the earth, it's a lot harder to take any kind of retaliatory action.
Not only that, but it will give them a false sense of security, "well, at least if I get killed I only have to sit out for a few minutes until the next round starts," or "Oh well, I took 3 shots, but they were all to the leg so I'll still be able to run around quickly and jump over boxes."

Most liquors are a lot stronger while in production than the final proof you see in the bottle when it reaches the store. With vodka, they'll usually add water to get it to the appropriate level; I'm sure they have other methods with Whiskey, not unlike what you described.
However, Hispanics still overwhelmingly voted Democratic. A large number of Catholics are Democrats.
You can pick some other issues where the Catholic church strongly disagrees with the President (death penalty); however, people seem to forget these other issues when such hot-button topics as abortion and gay marriage are pushed to the front.
You don't see Bush acknowledging support from the KKK, even though it is there.
Small cities in the midwest and west tend to actually be spread out a lot more than a three or so mile radius, because there is so much open space to work with. People have bigger yards, and want to live further away from their neighbors. Look at cities like Ft Wayne for an example. Everyone is spread out around the edges, and continue to spread further away.
This seems most appropriate for an application like intraurban transportation and not commuter transportion.
Not only that, but his plan to "privatize" social security is founded on the same principles.
In short, he wants to phase in a system where part of your social security taxes go into a private account that you can choose how to invest, and the rest go to the general public fund.
So, what is going to happen is that the amount of money currently moving into the social security fund will drop, the money moving out will continue to rise with the number of people retiring and living longer. Things won't really even out until those who are 16 when the program is implemented retire. The only way to fix this gap is to raise taxes or cut spending elsewhere. Of course, Bush won't raise taxes or cut spending, so when finally get a president with the guts to do that, he'll be portrayed as a horrible person who wants to stick his hands in our pockets and rob us. When the real thief is the person that created the deficit in the first place.
I find it amazing that while telling us that "privatizing" social security is putting our money in our control, what it is really doing is the government is not only forcing me to pay for everyone else's well-being, they're forcing me to invest some of my own money.
I wonder if the government will only allow me to invest in funds they approve of and don't violate their morals.

How many jurisdictions currently tax Internet access, and how many ISPs will lower your bill, or just raise it up to the rate you were paying with the tax on top of it anyway?
Apartments aren't taxes either, although condos are
Your landlord pays property taxes. Rest assured he passes the bill on to you.

Is it really that surprising? When you have some room to work with, you're more likely to be sloppy, because after all, what's a little memory leak here or there, you've got 250 megs to spare, right? When you've got so little memory to work with, every bit is important. There's no room for waste or carelessness.
Your comment about the Supreme Court assumes that the more liberal Justices will leave will Bush is in office. They're not morons. Expect the more aged conservative Justices to leave, and expect the liberal Justices to hang in as long as they can and hope for a President that will replace them with a like-minded person.

The key word in your post is "suing." Doesn't mean the courts will recognize their claim or want to put such a burden on schools.
Similar lawsuits that have failed are along the lines of parents suing for a school's scoliosis program failing to notify them of a condition that the parents did not discover it until a later date and the kid suffered serious disability.
I highly suspect the court will not want to place such a burden on the state, when they have refused to do so to schools in so many other cases.

I know of at least one example of an assembly plant trying to lower it's resource consumption. Actually, after a quick google search, it appears there are at least four GM plants using landfill gas for energy.
Why do they do these things? Because in many cases, there actually is a cost savings in more "green" industrial methods.

Fraud:
1. Make false statements to another with intent to deceive.
2. The other party relies upon those statements to do something.
3. That reliance results in injury/loss to the other party.
