Which is easier to view a written letter left laying around or something where you must go to a website and provide a user id and password.
thats was my point neither is really secure, but with email, at least no one can read it, because it's just sitting on the coffe table ( unless it was printed of course).
That kinda brings up a point. Other folks emailed this guy assuming that it was confidential.
I feel for his family, but the other folks involved have privacy rights as well. What if friends emailed him some very private, personal email asking for advice. Email provides more protection, than say snail mail which anyone can read (granted not ALOT more, but at least someone has to have the id and pw).
I have downloaded and tried opera off and on over the last 4 years. The version I tried about 6 weeks ago was noticeably slower than firefox and have never had any tab issues with FF. Usually I don't have more than 2 or 3 tabs going at once. Thats probably why I have never had problems with it.
Also Opera will do some strange things with stretching graphics and page layouts, over all it does a better job of displaying a site more closely to what IE does.
I like Fire Fox better based on it's speed and size. Also being open source I've noticed secruity updates get posted faster, however I think that Opera is defintely good. Either is a good alternative to IE. It's kinda of like arguing Linux and BSD (EXECPT opera isn't opensource, just free with adds)...
BTW after the first 60-80 seconds I just tune the adds out. If FF started sell a small add window to fund development it would'nt bother me.
Ah Dude, he said he was from India and Quit his job in India. Thats kinda germaine to the whole thing, that started whole trollish nature of this article. If he said I quit my job in Cleveland, there would have been probably a dozen or so replies to this article.
Thats what I was trying to point out, with all this 'open market' outsourcing and no one to look out for amercan workers, expect tensions to go up not down.
Before I hear some crap from a bunch of free market, Fox loving, orielly fans consider this.
I work with a guy that came over here from main land china on an H1B. Nice guy. I had been laid off a couple of years ago. Downsizing not outsourcing. Anyway he asked me what benefits american workers got for being laid off severance etc. I told him nothing. I got a 2 weeks pay as serverance, but the company was not required to do that. I got 300something dollars every two weeks in unemployment and that was it.
He was shocked, Chinese mainland workers had far more 'rights' after they were laid off than we Americans. Thier companies were required to give them so many months pay as serverance and they alot of training and other things we don't get.
I thought that was quite amusing here we are carping at the chinese about their human rights situation and in some areas we are worse off as Americans.
Of couse you know with George II in power the rights of workers will only diminish, never increase.
As long as the US treats thier workers like disposable diapers and the thieveing bastards that run our companies as some sort of Gods here on earth, expect fear and depise of Indians and Chinese to go up not down.
since you can only buy thier stuff in either mp3 or windows formats and neither will work on an ipod. However there must be some mp3 to ipod format conversion tool.
If the American had to put up terrorism the way the Israelis do we would'nt. THe army would've gone in, shot every last one of them, buried them in mass graves and then we would build wal marts and MCDonalds over them
I've downloaded songes with lyrics that had F-bombs all over the place, plus other stuff. None of it has been messed with. That maybe a policy they have in thier stores, but so far the online stuff is pristine.
As much as i hate F***in walmart you can download all the songs you want for $0.88 a piece and get them in mp3 format. If this guys doesn't want them in Apple's format he can go to Walmart and buy music. Or buy used CD's rip the songs and trade the used CDs back into the used CD store for more used CD's to Rip.
THere is no way Apple has a monopoly on digital music. If you look hard enough I bet this guy is funded by either Real Networks for M$ (the usual villans in these cases)
It won't be mainstream till 2008, so that means it will really start to be popular in late 2007. So you have 2.5 years to jump on the BSD/AthenaOS/ReactOS/OS-9/........ bandwagons. You even have time to start your own. Good Luck!
BTW I wonder what the status of BeOS. That might be fun.
MS is a perfect example of what happens when a company has no competion, even now that Linux is starting to compete, they are still too arrogant to imagine that they could ever lose market share.
Crap this will eventually doom them. Look at Mac OS, a wonderful user-friendly on top a solid secure unix OS. Linux is getting better all the time. THe day linux gets really good support for consumer devices like digital cameras, MP3 players, the newes t color scanners and copiers, then MS is dead in the water in terms of OS.
W knows nothing will happen in the next fours years, by then he will have enought US corp and Saudi money in the bank that when the world is f**ked up he can go live where it's comfortable while all of us 'little' people die like trapped rats.
So of course from his prespective there is no problem.
If you have the skills and have a good credit history (feds look at that) no criminal back ground then you can get in with companies doing Govt contracting, not the govt itself. Lockeed-Martin is an example. I work at the FAA areonautics center. My salary is ALMOST as good as private sector and I have gurarnteed 5 year contract. I'm in line to get a secret clearance and we do alot work with the Army ( go figure). the Beauty is if my company loses the contract in 5 years, then the new co. will have hire me if I don't want to leave, since I helped write the software in question. Then they will have a 5 year contract etc.... Granted the Pay is a bit less than private sector, not much though. They will never outsource this stuff because of all the clearances required. So it's perfect.
I would highly recommend it. I will never work in the strictly private sector again. Because of all the Tech demands, the demand in Govt jobs is soaring.
The down side is you may have to move somewhere you might not otherwise want to live, but a job is a job nowadays. Good Luck!
Look the thing that perpetuates Windoze is the APPS. if users start using OS apps and find out hey I don't need windoze anymore, then they will switch to Linux or BSD. If they never use the apps, they will stay glued to the OS. I met serveral people who started using linux BECAUSE they started using open office and Mozilla and GIMP and Blender other OS packages, when they realized they no longer needed windoze it was like hey, this is great. I can upgrade when I want and I have all these apps I can run.
Just ask Monica Lewinsky (thats phone instead of mail, but same principal)
Asking Steve Jobs to do a review of the new headless mini-mac.......
Minus the viruses and adware of course.....

Give me a physical Break
YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can't get rid of Bush, so we beat up the Indians......
Get used to it, it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Well, as obscure as a giant volcano/mountain with a crack in it, sitting in atlantic ocean can be.
Don't advertise it!

Women may not be turned on by that, but I heard Dr. Evil thought it was pretty cool.
Mmm'kay Scott?
