Messing with calendars has disastrous effects. Seriously. It's a weird thing to study, but those who do do not see good coming from making the calendar "just a little bit better."
Either way, some part of revenue from the search engine is going to charity. You aren't generating anything new by using Bing's donation feature, just clicking a button to do what Google apparently already does.
I hate how Congress thinks it can legislate anything it wants, and whatever it can't legislate in can hold a "hearing" on and then impose some ridiculous punishment. Interstate commerce. It's not meant to be a gateway for doing whatever the hell you want, it's supposed to be highly restrictive and limiting.
I think this may have been a reference to the now-infamous "your an idiot" response. Not sure though. 50% possibility it's an actual idiot, 50% possibility of a reference.
How, exactly, would you "ultimately prove" anything about life? I'm a very religious person, and I love science, but I also know that humility is the biggest key to seeking understanding about the world. Not every religious person is anti-science. Many of us fully embrace both.
Right after Diablo III gets a delay until at least January. I didn't believe the people saying there was a connection, but the timing here is more than a coincidence.
About your last point, really consider this: Which is going to help more asthmatic children in urban areas: forcing their parents to buy them more expensive medication, or removing the pollutants from the inhalers? And also thank you for pointing out individuals in the GOP's lackluster lineup, rather than blatant remarks about all conservatives.
If the US is doomed, then let it die. The entire point of our founders was that even "people this stupid" have the right to govern themselves. If you really don't believe that, then let the system kill itself off.
The many states being allowed to have varying laws is actually shown to be effective here. Missouri tried something new and failed. The rest of the country can choose to take what happened here into their own decision making process. One state now suffers the consequences of passing a law like this, instead of the entire population.
No, he's saying that children are impressionable. This is proven. But if your perspective is taken into account, then every student has to be evaluated on their capacity to make any decision before being allowed or disallowed to make it. This won't work because no evaluation system will work for every student in every situation, and as soon as one student's capacity for making a decision is overevaluated and that student is hurt or something, the entire system will be blamed. It's much easier to understand trends of student development and to realize while the occasional very mature student is restricted by the system, most of them follow some basic patterns, including a vulnerability to exploitation by those in authority until late high school or afterwards.
It sounds like the teacher there wasn't using his authority to encourage or coerce the student into a relationship. That's the real risk as far as teacher-student relationships; a student may feel like it is entirely voluntary but the teacher's authoritative position has formed the entire thing. And that should be the target of any law. Instead, teachers are treated like criminals. We are held to a very high standard of behavior, but treated like dog shit in return.
Not at all. The best recent breakthrough in getting people to stop speeding have been big signs that show you your speed. Now, just about in every school zone, I get a flashing light when I'm going over 20mph. No cop, no ticket, no privacy invasion. I get a personal message that I am breaking the law. And really, that's all it takes.
The Greeks also considered "demokratos" to be equivalent to anarchy.

Except that house numbers are generally made to be readable at a distance, whereas captchas are made to be readable up close, with scrutiny.

Subsidizing us? You think it's more expensive to stream a movie to a computer than to mail a physical disk? Really?
I guess we just need someone to beat them at their own game. How can we get the MAFIAA to go after them?
I'm sorry your childhood was rough. Please, don't attribute that kind of harsh upbringing to a religion.
NDAs have stronger legal backing than ToSes.
Thank you. I've been looking for something like this off and on for a while now. Watching the first lecture now!

I believe his original statement was a best out of 3. Check his blog.
He offered them a settlement just as ridiculous as the lawsuit they proposed.

He seems like a fun crazy to let roam. Mostly harmless.
Kids these days. I blame the parents.
