Are you looking for the intellectual stimulation that working with like minded people will get you? or are you just looking for a "job" that you are guessing will make you comfortable. No matter what you do with your life, do something that you like doing, that way if your career choice doesnt make you rich or famous (eg. the industry tanks for a few years) you will still be going to do a job every day that you like doing.

Actually the first thing the dems should try to do is rewrite the contracts for the companies supplying this war, lets see how enthusiastic the current admin is about this war when its not their companies with the billion dollar contracts.

So then its probably a good thing I am neither and advocate for or against it. I believe the right to bear arms is important, people should have the ability to use them for sport and self protection. But at the same time I feel things are out of control, the US has a magnitude of 1000x the amount of gun related homicides than any other country, there is definately something wrong. We already have laws controlling the usage of guns and we should be more proactive in enforcing them, so we dont need more, we definately need to make punishments more severe for people who break those laws. We also need to make the gun manufacturers more accountable, for gods sake they sell guns on the fact that they are fingerprint resistant (give me a break, who would REALLY be interested in a gun that is fingerprint resistant, there are more than enough cleaning agents to remove the oils left from touching the gun). I do know that the democrats do NOT want to take our guns away (this is a lie spread by the Republicans), and Al Gore said it best when he said "Any politician who would try and take away our right to own guns would be committing suicide, both politically and literally." Gun control isnt about taking the guns away, its about tracking the guns that are out there. In the end the way the Republicans are taking our freedoms away and stomping all over the constitution and bill of rights they wont have any choice but to repeal the 2nd ammendment because there wont be any more freedoms to take away.

What a tool, you must live in a terrible, lonely, harsh world. I feel sorry for you.

On topic, if I am reading this correctly there is a chance that Universal could have given away the rights to the trademark when they enlisted the fans to help them market the movie. This would then make the offending t-shirt perfectly legal. Of course all correspondence needs to be reviewed by a court to determine what the actual terms of use were.

There are two things that may have prompted this, 1) Universal is planning on a new series/movie based on the franchise and they dont want the fans using the new properties or 2) Universal is essentially being a bratty 4 year old and shouting "MINE" now that Serenity/Firefly has achieved some success with DVD sales. My guess is 2 since you would think there would at least be rumors floating around if they were planning anything new.

  21. I dont think the problem is... on Politicians Have Poor Grasp of Technology? · · Score: 1

that the politicians dont know anything about technology. They are politicians not technologists, they deal with a lot of topics in their normal course of duty and could never possibly learn everything about every topic that crosses their desk. What the real problem is, is the lobbyists and the fact that shysters and posers have put themselves in the position of teaching our politicians about technology. They are only learning about technology issues from the big money players who have either pushed everyone else out or just plain bribed the politicos to vote for their interest. There is no where else for a politician to learn about copywrite infringment issues except from the RIAA or MPAA because those organizations have spent billions of dollars insuring that no one else is heard except them. Cell phone companies, computer companies, cable companies, etc.. have all positioned themselves so that to politicians there is no other credible source of information available. A lot of the problems can be directly attributed to the current administrations vapid desire to get and maintain power (power for powers sake). They are either too busy worrying about passing laws that make them more money or causing more problems to cover up the fact that they are doing something they shouldnt be doing. But also the problems arise from the concerted efforts of big business in the 70's to change the laws so that politicians are now essentially being subsidised by corporations and not paid by taxes.
