- durable enough to stick in my back pocket and still be readable if I sit on it.

- still be usable if I drop it in the stool and put it on the radiator to dry.
- about the same size as a book.
- ever see a book with perfectly white pages? I disagree on the high contrast point.
- the experience should be the same as reading a book, interactivity is not a requirement, that is what the DS and PSP are for. DONT CREATE ANOTHER CONVERGANCE DEVICE! Create a device that is optimized for reading.
do it because you love it, or start writing inventory control programs. Being a game programmer is a lot like being a porn star. From the outside it looks all glamorous and exciting, but once your in the industry you realize pretty quickly that its almost more work than its worth.
H&R Block do people's personal taxes. I think you can probably trust them with that task, most of the time.
Actually no, maybe there is just have a bad office in my town. But last year and this year everyone I know who initially went to H&R block had to go somewhere else because H&R messed up their taxes so badly. IMO H&R block has lost all of their credibility and shouldnt be trusted to do even a 1040EZ.
that could happen if Apple gets Disney is that an opponent to DRM (Jobs claims piracy cannot be solved throught technological means but by giving the customer what they want, and they begrudgingly put DRM into iTunes and still gave us a way to circumvent it), will now own one of the biggest backers of DRM.
OMG, after reading his blog I see this as nothing more than a good old fashioned MS astroturfing. This guy is obviously an MS fanboy. So its like OMG, an MS fanboy dissing a non MS product (dial 911, monkeys are flying out my butt), I sure hope he did it for more than a free XBox.
or better yet and closer to home. The gang leader that gets 3/4 of the kids in his "hood" hooked on heroin and the the other 1/4 kids scholarships to college.
Because only 33% of the eligible voters voted last election. Out of that 33%, 51% are neo-cons, the rest are so disorganized they couldnt agree on a candidate if the candidate was God. Everyone except the neo-cons have given up on voting. Nothing will change until all eligible voters exercise their one and only voice in the process and vote.
You can pick up a sub 1GHz PC for under $100 or a low GHz processor for a little more. If you can afford a Garmin GPS you surely can afford a low end PC to run your required windows needs. Then when Garmin decides they want to support Mac you can install linux on it and have a nice server. Heck I would assume if you bought a GPS that requires windows you probably already have a windows box laying around somewhere, otherwise your an idiot for buying a piece of hardware whos software is not supported by your OS of choice. Trust me I know, Im still kicking myself in the ass for buying a linksys router to use with my airport extreme card:)
Why would you want to install an OS on your nice shiney new mac, that more than likely would make OS X unbootable within hours of being connected to the internet? I dual booted for a long time (a cd burner not supported by linux), it was the worst experience of my life. Other than for software testing I still havent ever seen a good reason for running multiple OS's on one machine.
Damn, I have waking nightmares just thinking of a dual booting windows/osx box, somewhere there has to be a law against this. I dont get the allure of dual booting. That has to be one of the most anti-productive concepts ever thought up. Hell, you end up spending 60% of your time booting into the other OS because the file/program you really need is on the other OS. I suppose if someone gets off on watching boot messages scroll by then this would be fun.
Or why not hit the big button along the bottom of the window that pops up a message saying "Turn off mini store"? It took me all of 5 seconds to figure out how to turn it off. So even if it takes joe computer-illiterate sixpack 5 times longer to figure it out that is still less than a minute they will have to worry about someone finding the the 100Gig music library they downloaded off of eMule.
I understand exactly what you are getting at. You are trying to point out the fallacy of the the argument "The patriot act is working because we have not been attacked" since there is no proof of cause/effect of that statement.
Well it sure sounded like you assumed I was trying to take "sides", considering the red/blue, talking about the demonization of one side comments you made. Whether these people are so focused on getting what they want that they are willing sacrifice the rest of us, or whether they actually are plotting against us (I dont really believe this), they are actively trying to hurt this country.
I did see the sarcasim in your post by the way, I just didnt think it was very funny.
I dont recall making any statement which included one group and excluded another, I just said "a group of people". It is not my fault that the loudest of them fall into one group and not the other.
Prove it. What attacks has it stopped. I keep hearing that I wouldnt believe all the terrorist attacks it has prevented. Well amaze me! Otherwise its all rhetoric from a group of people I firmly believe wish to harm my country not help it.
That statement alone is partisan politics, this makes them hypocrits and they loose all of their credibility. I have to admit, it is kind of interesting watching a coup take place in my own country in real time, albeit scary as hell, still interesting in a morbid sort of way.
Precisely, if you want to be management in this company, then become one of them. Start managing NOW!! Then the managers will either make you one of them or they will fire you out of fear they will have to pay you more, either way you will show them that you are willing to step up and take charge. That is never a bad thing in a good company.
doesnt it seem likely that such a request, from the executive branch of the federal govt might make a paper a little hesitant to rush off and go shouting that the pres. had been violating the constitution and his oath of office?
For any credible news agency in a free democracy I would think this would be incentive to do exactly that.

Um, MS is releasing a new OS this year, arent they?

No, I would rather have this country run by the majority.
I am going to be able to watch "Thats So Raven" on my iPod. I am all atingle!

Why did he get re-elected again?

Oh, so in other words XP has finally made it to the level of Mac OS 6!
My guess is they included Reader in the bundle so Adobe wouldnt complain since it is the "official" pdf reader, though not necessarily the best.
Let em go for world domination. The more fronts they fight on the faster their demise.
...coming from the general direction of Redmond could be heard saying, "IM GOING TO KICK YOU IN THE NUTS".
What, cant it be both?
No, that would put them into a cat state.
I understand exactly what you are getting at. You are trying to point out the fallacy of the the argument "The patriot act is working because we have not been attacked" since there is no proof of cause/effect of that statement.
That was humor? Sorry!
