    Now, THATS reality.

By the way, C# is to Java as .NET is to J2EE.

Can I run .Net applications on my IRIX, iSeries or Solaris boxes? How about the Cray I have in manufacturing? OH WAIT!! Its only a Microsoft solution, call me later when you can learn to play nice with the big boys. If it ties me to a single platform it isnt scalable, period, end of story. And no, having windows boxes hanging off of my servers like warts just to serve up windows widgets is not acceptable.

Then we would have a system where only the rich could afford to sue and you would have absolutely no recourse if something bad happened. Not a good idea, we need to get away from the "I have more money and can afford more lawyers than you" situation that we are in today. Though I agree that this guy is just making a cash grab (microsoft is trying to replace defective units), people are getting sick of MS's promises only to be disapointed when the product ships. What we need is something to discourage lawyers from approaching people and talking them into filing frivolous lawsuits. How did ambulance chasing become on honorable endeavor for lawyers?

I dont see too many people complaining Microsoft is copying, most of the complaints seem to be in the genre that Microsoft copies badly. I also agree with the post that if the best they can do is get compared to GoogleBase then they have already lost and they should cut and run from this endeavor.
There seems to be a growing number of people who have just lost confidence in MS because of the way they do business (not everyone is a money grubbing whore, some people do have a conscience and there is enough money for everyone, except the greedy).
The only people I see who still support them wholeheartedly are either on the payroll or are just too scared to try anything else. Most of the people I deal with at best use windows begrudgingly and seem to be resentful that they have no other choice to get their work done.
