Also, i'm sure there is several patches for 2.2.9 (10?) that add support for USB floating around. You shouldnt have to look that hard. USB seems to be coming along nicly.
To bad i don't have any usb things to play with =(
Its true, nt came be made reasonably stable, I used to run NT before I moved up the evolutionary scale to linux, and it is not THAT bad.
Of course, i concider it not that bad for a desktop, i think its worthless for a server, unless is a very low usage server, or something that isnt going to get pressed very hard. Then Nt works ok.
I used to run nt back when directx3 was GOOD and you could play all of the games on it =)
I don't like to be an ogre, but for the moment, those games 100% pure vapour.
When we start to see some code for them, and some consistence progress, i think i'll start to notice them. But these sound suspiciously like mere attention getters and not real games. =(
The unfortunate fact that some of this guys hardware doesn't work in linux really sucks, it sucks for him, it sucks for you, and it sucks for me. It sucks for everyone but the MS Drones(tm). And you know, that is totally unconsequencial, because a hell of a lot of hardware IS supported, there is documentation out there, these are not secrets on how to run linux that you have to be a the kernel devel team to install or use it.
Hard != Impossible, I figured it out, I read the manuals, I had no unix background. Good for me right? well yeah, but it proves that ppl can do it, if they really want to. And the point of this little bit of ego stroking is that linux can be install, and the vast majority of hardware DOES work, so, Linux is far, far from useless.
I'm being a jerk about because he started yappin and saying FUD. Thats why. I sure do hate FUD spreaders, even if you don't.
So you have a printer, thats impressive. A 400$ one to, and this is important because? Fine, so you bought it before you went to linux, thats to bad, bitch to the company. Oh but wait, since YOUR stupid printer doesn't work, I guess what makes linux useless, or a hacker toy right?
Now, i'm a jerk because I harshly correct a guy who should have STFU in the first place, and now your a jerk to because your defending a guy to says linux is useless because . Thats pretty stupid.
Anyone whos says linux is useless is a idiot or a microsoft drone, thats the facts.
If I bruised your feelings/ego you can hack my web page.
I didn't see anything in this guys post that would make me think he is a script kiddie. I think you should lighten up, that kind of scathing remarks are warrented and don't make anyone look good.
Yup, its all optmized for pentiums. There are a lot of trolls around, "Use !!! Its the best! Redhat/Mandrake/Whatever sucks!!", but smart people ignore them, they give linux a bad name. One even said all mandrake users sucked, which was pretty stupid. Ignoring those assholes, and looking inside Mandrake (5.2 and up) they are VERY similar to RedHat, and they don't deny this, but they are better built, have better default packages, far less overall bugs. Mandrake 6.0 has all of them optmized for pentiums.
If you like RedHat, but a few of his bugs that never get fixed (it has buffer overflows from 5.0 still) piss you off, then check out Mandrake.
OK, IMHO, BSD License is shit. (Remember, this is my opinion =). And i'm a BSD fan to, but that license is nasty, imagine working on something, then having some asshole company turn around and sell your work, without giving you a thing. Heh, not my work pal.
I donno, but I played Myth 1, and it was damn fun. If Myth II is half is good (and it sounds better), well heh.
Man, if they keep these linux games rolling out, i'm going to be a very poor man =) Heh oooh well =)

Heh, i'm not =) I use whats best IMO, and as such, i've used TurboLinux, RedHats 4.2 to 6.0, Debian 1.3 to 2.1, SuSE 5 somethings, Caldera 1.2 to 1.3, Slackware early 2 something to 3.6.
I've also tried FreeBSD 2 something and OpenBSD 2.4 (and eagrly waiting for 2.5, in fact, i'm skipping starwars to get it eheh =)
Sometimes, i install a new OS just for the hell of it, so i also tried BeOS (bleh). And sadly, all the MS ones to. In the end, give me linux or give me death =)
Personally, i know from both experience and just talking to people, that RedHat ships with a bunch of exploits. After that, I became paranoid and kept a good watch on that kind of sillyness, and since then i've been pretty good. But RH doesn't fix exploits very fast. If at all, there is an exploit in one of the utils thats been there since RH51. Now thats stupid IMO. I found the mandrake distros a lot cleaner.
Hell, i had my RH51 box rooted =) Lucky that i had a samsung HD, the thing was so noisy it woke me up and i booted the guy off and fixed things up before he deleted to much. True Story =)
But don't go dizzin our PM coz he will kick y0 ass =) First he will grab your face and shove you away, then he will get a bunch of your friends and pepper spray the shit out of them!

I thought Hotmail used Solaris? I'm sure they did.
Unless they changed to FreeBSD after that.
Which would be a good idea actually.

Don't forget they are automatically loaded into the gun, the extraextraextra sized 200 round clip.
Its like the Tardis of gun clips.
He means that he is a troll, and he wants to irritate some Canadians, except, that genenerally, we are to smart to fall for a simple ploy like that =P
Go back to your little hole and go find a corner to sit in until you've smartened up a little.
Get real pal,
None of that makes linux a toy.
