Maybe I just don't understand the subject enough but from TFA "... there is no a priori rule that hexagons should form... and when people are searching for new ice nucleating agents which can be used to seed clouds and cause rain, they do not necessarily need to focus on materials that have hexagonal surfaces - other types of surfaces may be good too."
Nowhere do I see a claim that this pentagonal structure is superior, just that this opens up the potential that there are other structures as well and that one yet undiscovered structure could be beneficial for cloud seeding.
HHGTTG reference. The marketing division of the Sirious Cybernetics Company which made Marvin the Paranoid Android and marketed that type of robot as "Your plastic pal who's fun to be with."
According to the book, the marketing division is mentioned in the Encyclopedia Galactica as "A bunch of jerks who will be first against the wall when the revolution comes." also said that from a copy which fell backward in time to read "... who were the first against the wall when the revolution came."

We (as a society) need to be careful about printing everything. I'm excited about the technology, but the idea that a few fires could destroy the majority of humanity's work in the last X years is unsettling.
The less you know, the louder you know it, eh? Patent law came into existance as an incentive to inventors to invent. Giving them a temporary monopoly on the sale of products covered by the patent.
Maybe someone could expand upon this for me, but if the NY Times did shut down presses and buy everyone a Kindle, couldn't they display ads as pictures to the kindle users? Thus (assuming as well that all their subscribers are given Kindles) all the money advertisers spend is still going to ads viewed by the same people... doesn't it equal out?
I mean the subscribers are STILL subscribers. To keep getting the paper electronically delivered they have to pay still right?
"(Silicon Alley Insider recently calculated that the New York Times could save more than $300 million a year by shutting down its presses and buying every subscriber a Kindle)"
You had me at Kindle.

Dent: "Have you ever considered going into advertising?"
Otherwise, perfect, thank you.

From memory, sorry if anything's amiss.

does it affect other platforms as well. Or is it Windows specific?
Yes and no respectively. It only affects Adobe Reader. All other PDF software is unaffected, I believe.
Then we'll just have to go after the people responsible!

If you pay attention carefully, at this point it will start to dig.
Other than the fact that it's still illegal and would leave its rootkit on your machine, sure. *famous last words* What could go wrong?
Thank you for jumping straight to ridicule. I was afraid of having to spend a bunch of time in "ignore", but this is much faster.
Only if you want to confuse and infuriate her.
I could be wrong but I thought AC was making an attempt at a South Park reference. Apparently mod(s) agrees with you.
Got one for you on down

I believe you have this backwards. 'shy' crocs in the gamanimatron's post means the ones who avoid humans, not more tame.
No, I followed links all the way to the security advisories. They are the EXACT same vulnerability. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/968272.mspx
