    Cloud computing is the combination of distributed computing using a cluster and network storage. It's nothing new, but it haven't been harnesses to do general purpose computing 'till recently. I think it happened because of our ability to now run VM into a cluster seamlessly (switching workload between servers) and treat the cluster as one unique entity, hence the could.

    Well, I mind the story of Half-Life because there's a lof of black or gray area in the it that I don't know or I didn't understand completely. HL and HL2 were great, but I think the setup is large enought so there could be a real established story line. I think making a movie or a book out of it could be cool, as long as it stick to the original setup.

    Yes, and prior art is always possible when defending against someone who would grab your idea and patent it. Publishing also help a lot with prior art.

    I hate my sinus cavities... why the hell do they get blocked everytime I get a cold. I end up with sinusitus 4-5 times a years. I know without them I would be speaking funny but I think I could live with this.

    Then use produced Solar cell and install them on the top of the factory so the energy for manufacturing the next one will come from the sun.

    Starting from scratch should deserve 3.0, not 2.8. The 2.6 series come from the 2.5 which were extremely derived from 2.4 Linus has already told that he would open the 2.7 branch when he'd feel that it would be the time. It may be. Personnaly I think Linux could be improved if the drivers were not so much part of the kernel. Currently a kernel update breaks drivers, but it shouldnt. Kernel ABI drivers uses should be stabilized.

    Then let's do like most other open source projects when they reach that point : Analyze current version, find good things and bads things, find possible improvement that were impossible because of breakage and legacy. Once the analysis process is complete, start version 3.0 from scratch, implement the new stuffs and improvements, then bring current features in one by one. And don't tell me it cant be done, it has been. And dont tell me it wouldn't be supported : how much time did it take before the 2.6 line has been adopted by industrials and missing critial distro?

    Sparc, Amiga, PPC Mac... just to name a few. Most of them used to be available to general public. Now they're either gone or not available to commoner.

    I'm seeking halogen replacement too. I need PAR20 50W equivalent. These halogen lights make so much heats in the basement it get incomfortable pretty fast if all the 15 are on. I've found a CFL replacement that meets my need but unfortunately it won't fit as the bulb is too long :(

    Nobody thought that this could be a dual star system in with the "planet" a failed star that didn't had enough energy to start burning or didn't had enough hydrogen. I thought that two body in space that had the same mass could orbit a central point in perfect equilibrium without ever touching themselves. If the star is light and the planet has a lot of heavy elements in its composition, than it could explain this.

    There must be something that could turn a profit to pay for space exploration. Rare metal in asteroid or something else? Thinking of all this, it always reminds me the Star Trek story, the need for a WW3, a science guy inventing a light speed capable engine. The day we gonna drop our stupid money based system and start working for a common goal we may see space exploration happens. For now we're only looking our planet nose. There's is infinite space out there and lots of resources, more enough to satisfy man growth for long.

    The microsoft agent was a COM component and a couples of years ago I made a small piece of code that let you launch clippy even without Office. I wasn't as responsive as it didn't have the back-end MS used to make it appear "intelligent" but it was still cool saying insanity on the desktop :D

    You don't live in eastern Canada don't you? Since the first time El nino as stricken de west-american coast, our climate has become shittier than it was. The winter used to be deep cold from november through april. Now we don't get snow until the end of december. Instead of snow, we get some -10ÂC with real high moisture level. I can swear that you'd beg for a -25 with 10Â of moisture instead of that. It so moist, the cold bite you deeply and it makes you really uncomfortable. Summer... the summer use to start around the end of may, getting around 20-25 all summer long, with one or two weeks of 30-35. Summer are moist too. But now we get more rain than ever. May is usually great, but it's been a couple of years that June and even part of July is crappy. We get's lot of rain and cool 10-15ÂC weather. I remember how it was 15-20 years ago. It's clearly different. Now, if so much change has happen is such small time, I don't know in what kind of climate my son's children will live.

    Why don't they build a data-center in Quebec province? They could build it near the James Bay and have a lof of cool weather plus having really cheap electricity. All they would have to do is build a backbone of fiber to it, which is inland :)

    In fact I don't think the drives would still work as many modern bios don't support 5¼" anymore. I wonder though if Windows 7 would still handle them ... I need to try this out!

    I really hope they'll open up the game engine for MW4 and MW3. I never been able to finish MW3 do to a nasty bug in the game :@ Anyhow, I hope they'll stick to the classic MW gameplay and it'll be a success for sure :D Well, I'll be buying!

    What new one? Virus don't spawn from nothing, they derive from something. We don't know how HIV has happened, but we know similar virus from which it could come. Now, maybe there could be a new one coming from a mutating STD. If nobody sleeps with animals we should be ok for a while :P
