    first gen 5g phones are gonna suck through battery like crazy. I wouldn't get one until the 5g modem can be integrated and doesn't need to be separate. Probably best to hold off for a year or so to technology mature.

    Why do we have a company whose main business is selling ads controlling the software that either allows the ads to be blocked or not be blocked? Seems like an enormous conflict of interest. This only will end one way if Google is in charge... ultimately ad blockers will go away, one way or another. They just need to figure out the way to accomplish it that causes the smallest uproar.

    I don't even pay attention anymore. Just use common sense and you'll be farther ahead than you would be chasing whatever the current recommendations are.

  11. Sorry, missed the 'online' part. But, if you wanted to, just link your checking acct to PayPal or Amazon Pay. CC is bypassed. The really sad effect this will have is retailers will have to raise prices to cover the increased CC fees, and even those who don't use credit cards will be affected.

  16. I've had R on my radar screen for some time now, but somehow haven't had the time to learn it. Python for me was a little more.... generic. What I mean by that was that I could basically apply it to other tasks that were not data science centric. I'm sure R is equally capable, that's just the rep is has though.

    Is there really a market for it if that is the case? I guess that maybe the wireless providers master plan is to try to cut into the cable MSO subscriber base after DSL proved to be slow and cumbersome, but with DOCSIS 3.1 rolling out and Full Duplex DOCSIS on the horizon you have to wonder if that is money well spent.
