My Compac iPaq 5555 had touch screen and grid of icons (which look rather outdated compared to what Android OS has, I have to note) long before iPhone.
Jump from pocket PC to phone that is also a pocket PC was obvious to me, back in 2005, when my iPaq died and I couldn't find a good replacement.
"The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is comprehensible" said Einstein. I never fully got why it was a big deal, but I'm pretty sure "comprehensible" in this sentence is about describing it in math.
Driving to long distances with an electric car would need "swap stations" where you'd replace your empty battery with charged ones. If electric cars will become popular, we'd need to build lots of more power plants.
Both qualify as "building infrastructure" in my books.
The best criticism of Rosenhanäs experiment that I've heared so far:
If I were to drink a quart of blood and, concealing what I had done, come to the emergency room of any hospital vomiting blood, the behaviour of the staff would be quite predictable. If they labelled and treated me as having a peptic ulcer, I doubt I could argue convincingly that medical science does not know how to diagnose that condition.
You can't fake symptoms and then complain that diagnostics sucks. Experiment would be legit if they'd faked improvements in a way matching symptoms.
Uh, oh, I don't know about "better" but a couple of month ago my Galaxy Tablet 10.1 upgraded from 3.x to 4.x, that's about 2 years after it was released.
And the most important part is: it has become FASTER. On the contrary, Apple users that I know complained that it has become slower after an OS upgrade. Which, evil tongues say, is to actually FORCE people to upgrade the firmware.
Why did they remove Other OS? Because: a) IBM was pissed about US Defence buying PS3's instead of its servers b) OtherOS was the main reason console was hacked into oblivion (which, one could argue, also degrades legit user experience due to cheaters, console becoming less attractive to the developers etc)
Compare that to competitor's actions and reasons behind them. The reason that you'd need XBox Live Gold to USE A FREAKING BROWSER or watch youtube movies. Sony's competitor tried to fruck us, the customers in a number of ways, only part of that was reversed (thanks to Sony not following the suit and customers canceling pre-orders)
You can also hook a controller to it, and it would transmit your commands to your main console over the network. A bunch of my (kidless:)) fellows bought second consoles simply to be able to also play in the bedroom.
I don't see OtherOS removal as a problem, sorry, call me selfish, but I'm way more concerned about attempt by its competitor, to enforce digital only games.
There was hardly anyone who was affected by this. Those who bought device for Other OS didn't need to upgrade the firmware, those who bought it for games, couldn't care less about Other OS.
Could be, could be... But I doubt it is a coincidence that whenever there is a conflict with some 30 year old regime, Mr Putin is always on the dictators side.
Russia also brokered deal with Miloshevich, when NATO was bombing the hell out of that country, which was again, technically aggression of NATO block vs independent country, Serbia. (there were again no UN sanctions)
1) what Syria agreed to (initially Russians refused saying "it's Syria's right to have them" 2) To act together and guard these weapons in case of a bigger mess later
It's not such a big win for Putin, since giving up chemical weapons just not to get your ass beaten by US IS a big deal and could later be applied to other countries, e.g. Iran.
You didn't need a visionary to combine PDA and a phone. Gestures with pitch to zoom etc were there even back in mid 90th, on (at that time) very expensive prototypes. Once right tech was there, pda-phones or smartphones if you want, were inevitable.
And once everyone did that, Apple is oh so far behind. (still that PDA icon grid thing and no widgets, give me a break) It still sells well because it is a fashion device, but that's it.
Soo, Wii U / PSP / Vita kind of thing for PC, by nVidia... Even Sony's Vita, with wonderful screen and dozens of decent games struggles at two times lower price, it's astonishing how arrogant or clueless nVidia is. What is the advantage of this thing? Cheapo crappo games? No thanks.
Considering it is now legal to prohibit class actions in EULAs, it won't take long to put that into most job contracts. At least for Apple. But then IANAL, so pardon my ignorance if EULAs are somehow less restrictive.
I'm pretty sure Su-27 was a great jet fighter back in the cold war era.
It was definitely better than Mig-29.
Uh oh. Yet it is much cheaper than i5 (+ premium on mainboard), but does much better in games.

That's clear.
What's not clear, is how it goes with freedom of speech/expression laws.

A (bit outdated) joke:every 4.5 billion years physicists of the Earth gather to launch Large Hadron Collider.
On a side note:
"The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is comprehensible" said Einstein.
I never fully got why it was a big deal, but I'm pretty sure "comprehensible" in this sentence is about describing it in math.

Also check how far they are with fuel cells in Japan:

It tortures before it kills.
It is also inherently non-discriminate.

You also get "bluetooth extender" for your controller.
Besides dualshock is a better controller, with Vita they had to make compromises (big screen in the middle, should fit in a pocket etc)
If all you want is off TV play, Sony PSP could do it for ages.
You can also hook a controller to it, and it would transmit your commands to your main console over the network. :)) fellows bought second consoles simply to be able to also play in the bedroom.

Kerry has openly talked (in London) about Assad's giving up chemical weapons would stop the attack.

Hardly a win.

2) To act together and guard these weapons in case of a bigger mess later

You still think that technology matters, but it frankly doesn't, or very little. It's not who has the coolest widgets, it is who can make it work.
As we saw with tablets, eh?

iWatch will probably be as popular as apple TV.
Except you can't consider monster multi-nationals to belong to any country, once you realize where do they pay their taxes...
