    What I'm saying is that there needs to be a methodology of creating this stuff that makes two competing interpretations of the same text a thing of the past.

  3. A shaky, but mostly accurate analogy for Apple would be the young, upstart politician, breaking rules, breaking new ground, etc. to get elected, only to ossify into the old, staid, politician who wants to get re-elected.

    The Mac, iPad, iPhone, AppleWatch and iTunes, etc will be refined and refined and refined and thus become predictable and boring.

    It's probably just a fancier version of a spell checker essentially.

    Seems like most court cases involving contracts and interpretation of the law are mostly about unpacking the Bullshit written into the contract or law. It seems absurd that one of the functions of the court is to divine the intentions of the law's author.

    A law can be complex in that there are many moving parts that can interact in different manners, but the parts themselves and the manner in which they can interact should be clearly defined and not subject to interpretation.

    Autopilot stuff for your car isn't AI. It's just a control system.

    Now, if you were to muse out loud that you feel like a donut and the Autopilot knew you were talking about a particular kind of pastry and not the spare "donut" tire in the trunk, found a place and pulled into it after pre-ordering, that might be AI.

    I seem to recall that there are legal recourses for minority stockholders who can show that the majority stock holder and board leadership are not acting in the best interest of all stock holders.

    They have a fiduciary duty to look out for all stock holders.

    My voice mail is a 90 second long screed about all the circumstances under which I will not return a call. It seems to defeat most automated calls since I rarely get a message.

  20. I expect that it would be more effective and provide a higher degree of accuracy to use a purpose built/modified ship to simply traverse the waters following satellite guided paths would be less expensive and simpler.

    Not to mention that most ships are following trade routes.So your results would be highly limited.
