I installed a game on a temporary "RAM drive" after I bought 16 GB of it a few years ago. Load times of Deus Ex HR didn't change at all from my SATA SSD. Was really disappointed.
Actually according to the New Yorker's Jony Ive profile, Apple requires that all its employees, engineers included, have an eye for design. They won't hire you if you're borderline autistic. And when a designer (one of Ive's team) walks into a meeting it's like a high priest has graced the peons with his presence. Everything at Apple is done with deference to form and design. For example, this is probably why the original Macbook Air (and now the new Macbook) had only one USB port, until widespread criticism led to them adding another.
For what it's worth I also think the Metro look is incredibly ugly, and I suspect is a major reason why Windows Phone has utterly failed to succeed at any level.

I agree with the article proposing a year long DST. I really look forward to setting my clock an hour ahead and getting an extra hour of daylight in the afternoon. I love the really late sunsets in summer. I'm not a morning person, and the dark mornings don't have much of an effect on my emotional state. And really, even without DST in the winter, most off us in the midwest wake up and go to work in the dark. Sunrise is just really late, and it sucks coming back home in the dark.

The "brain drain" that occurs b/c people want more financial security. In Western countries every first generation Indian family pushes their children to be doctors, and to marry doctors, so they can be rich. I think that's screwed up.
