I'm not just paranoid, but anal retentive and obsessive compulsive too.
Back in blighty we use the word CUNT.
*sorry for the blatant troll, but this guy is just being a dick now with his fears and his paranoia (probably still justifies gun ownership so the king cant steal his moms basement*

Certainly in Britain, under existing regulations press have access not afforded to the "civilians". bloggers can't just turn up at press conferences and ask questions.
Furthermore a raft of lawyers to protect journalists (providing they dont have a gutless editor/owner) and the concept of press freedom (can't recall this being extended to cover bloggers speech yet[and is being corroded for the mainstream press])allow journalists a lot more protection from prosecution (it could be argued that a welathy owner can also carry clout, but thats a two way street).
A journalist has access to trained and educated researchers they can consult on technical details (if they so desire, or they just make it up), a salary to allow them to dedicate time, and the resources of the paper to take them where they need to go.
Finally, a reporter _should_ be neutral, thus giving a story supposedly more clarity than most blogs that are written by people with a passion for one subject or even one side of a subject. (not knocking the passion, but until people learn to deal with this much info the need for filtering is essential)
On that note, let me add that I think blogging is a large part of both present and future news gathering/reporting and that current methods are falling woefully short in many cases due to self interest, laziness and greed. So in summation, I agree that bloggers != reporters out there reporting, at the present time.
I read the parent's argument more as reasoning why there is concern as opposed to condemnation of the system itself.
Even if nothing is stopped, this whole debate is reminding other wise un-knowledgeable people of the potential dangers. this may encourage more people to lock their phones to prevent tampering and to be aware of the ways this system _could_ be abused.
Providing people with accurate information is useful in all situations so that we can make decisions based on facts, not PR hyperbole.
I will say though that the british tabloid culture and the need to glamorise all news stories mean that knee-jerk reactionaries usually get their voice heard more often than rational discussion due to the drama they can add with scare stories. But at least that raises the issue so it can be debated by other media and on talkboards and forums.
Freedom of choice is indeed a right but how free is that choice until all the options have been presented?
Wow, long time since i been compared to Hitler, How could you see my 'tache from there.
Thanks for the bigging up though. Wish i had the say over the estate but sadly am very low level. Kudos to you though for invoking Godwin so late in the day.
I hate to contradict you sir as your points _should_ be entirely true.
Sadly the number one complaint from my users (around 10000, at least 400 complaints) about the new locked-down desktops we installed 18 months ago is that they cannot change their wallpaper (screensavers as they call them...) And to top this, one of they key reasons we chose to force this on them was the sheer amount of work we had to do removing clunky screensaver managers or custom cursors and icons (not to mention the virii accompanying many of these).
I often wonder if my father (an engineer) had the same problem with people wanting to customise their wrench so it had blue handles?
'Be' still provide a great service over non LLU lines. Sure I'm not getting the 12mb+ I was before I moved, but I'm getting a decent rate compared to my neighbours and the service is excellent.
I find it is worth the extra coupla quid for the lack of draconian limits (hit 40-50gb's many months) and brilliant customer service. I have had them guys on the phone (free) several times a day tweaking my speeds their end to maximise stability.
I am studying computing with the UK's "Open University". Recently discovered to my dismay that my final exams wereall hand written.
This included creating upwards of 40 methods per question and scripting small OO programs..
So taking errors and crossings out into account (amazing how hard it is to write clearly and legible when doing angled, square, or squiggly brackets) would leave me with 100 lines of writing where only 70 or so were not crossed out.
Fuck knows how they mark this stuff..... Also, being used to using an editor tehre is no testing to ensure that minor syntax errors (capitalization etc) are avoided.
Sexual intercourse is meant to be an act performed in private for the two parties that love and care for each other deeply enough to create a stronger bond. Citation please. my high-school biology seemed t indicate it was for procreation. I can find nothing to indicate that the point of fucking is to be private.
Do you censure fish who conduct the act of procreation on a mass scale in front of other fish?
Got a mate runs a skip/dumpster hire company, he gets half a dozen of these a week. Monitors too. even got a 24" mac once with nothing worse than a blown PSU.
I clean em up, he sells em on, pays for smokes...
The waste is disgusting, but i'm sure many other such acts of recycling go on everywhere. whats more is people get a nice PC for £100 that would be out of their price range otherwise.
TV's anmd such like are a different matter though. most cant survive the process of being dumped
Devices based on the material could be small enough to power anything from interplanetary probes to aircraft and land vehicles, he adds.
I think once we get to the level of space probes, "User Serviceable" is not particularly essential. Christ, I wont even change my car battery (due to laziness as much as anything).
Were you envisaging using these in your remote or something?
Wow, and i thought i was cynical. I had never even pondered this. Public transport where I live at the moment is so screwed that many are already using a similar scheme (i cycle everywhere and am lucky enoughto have a girl with a car for the longer distances (10 miles plus). This is privte enterprise though and not subsidised by public transport funds.
I have lived in other european cities though and in places where they already have superb public transport facilities I can see this adding a welcome extra level for those who dont own cars but need a car only occasionally. I know they were operating such a scheme in Amsterdam when I lived there but am not sure how it was funded. Provided traditional methods were still maintainned though this may well encourage the more well off to sacrifice cars and public transport is for everyone, rich and poor. More encompassing services make people more willing to pay taxes
Thankyou for some truly original thought in among todays postings
I believe the boffins are dealing with the bad weather situation via the development of the coat. It looks to be a revolutionary one-piece "cover" that has places to accomodate arms and a fastener device to cover the gaps. I am currently working on a stacking system for this and hope to get rich one day with the "Coat Hanger"
Nothing wrong with getting out in some adverse weather and exercising a little. Feels invigorating. And when you get home you REALLY deserve that joint/beer/handshandy.
Sounds like a nice system. In amsterdam they even have Bike Upkeep Managers (BUM's) who disconnect the bike for you for a small fee and hand it to you on many of the towns bridges
Yeah, saving the need to read 3 small paragraphs would have been a major help.
Wouldnt wanna read any info pertaining to something outside of ym own country, them dam foreigners got messed up laws.
You're a regular fuckin Fonzie, take a prize, go on, your ego needs it.
I usually find the advice from tech report's periodical System Guide to be very useful and relevant.
Their latest report came out a couple of weeks ago. They focus on a range of options at various price points and requirements.
sorry to attempt to answer your question and not shill Apple.
State your city then we can verify - otherwise stfu

Piffle sir.
By the way, how do I solve "arising"

I'll contact HR and have them run a survey for ya
Guess you spend yours on a Daily Mail subscription?
To you and the guy a few posts up.... why do you have a problem with drug dealers??
If they steal your stuff, they are burglars...
If they mug you for the cash they are violent offenders...
If they trash your property when stoned they are vandals...
But consensual financial exchange for goods is something you think needs to be watched?
wow dude, get a fuckin life
+1 Coffee coming out of my nose

tin, tin-cans, the can, .....
tenuous, but related....
OT Sidenote: Pigs eat the truffles, too expensive. They mostly use dogs now, as they "fetch" the truffles for treats in return.
And then, instead of emulating wit, charm, charisma and irresistible sexual magnetism, it just makes you believe that's what it's doing.
It's really just placing a layer between reality and perception.
So definitely not an emulator.

Reminds me of the time i created a Firefox shortcut to open up a webmail page and gave it an Outlook Express in order to get my dad to click it.
New interface, no problem - getting it into his head that he no longer clicked the little envelope icon... impossible.
