After hitting 120FPS... the card it's on no longer matters... does it?;) Only thing I've chosen 3Dfx for is legacy compatability (most old 3D games used the 3D API that could do some damage before OGL was capable of it - admit it, OGL 1.0 was not all that great)... And for the niffy Linux support (even though it was originally written by a 3rd party) and VSA100's full support... unfortunately, it's only support for XF4... ahh well, it'll still be fun;)
Plenty of geeks have issues... I'm one of them, proud to have issues (insanity type)... anyhow...
The term used as "The Real Work" meant (as I read it) that we would rather do *our* work than 'waste' our time with politics. Sorry to say it, but, to most tech-heads, polotics mean no more than sports.
The reason for the doubled number of transistors on the Athlon is the doubled amount of cache. The Athlon without the cache would definitely run kleener than the Celeron (I know the Celeron is based off of the PII but so is the PIII:P:)

Ahh, but you forget, not everyone has access to a tech-headed type person. I know plenty of people in smaller towns (Relatives) that don't have tech-heads at their disposal. My grandparents who live mid/north of the US live in a small town and the person who knows most about computers there still doesn't know enough to be considered a tech in my book.
Unfortunately, no. Even if it was, the FSB that the athlon uses is actually a slight cheat, it's DDR (the same tactic things like the geForce are using) which means it picks up a burst on the rise and fall of the clock rather than just on one side. This means you're actually only running it at 100 mhz but it seems to act as if it were 200 mhz. The next load of K7s (due to release next year when the Dresden plant is in full production) will be.18 micron. They will also have onboard L2 and various other nifties. (I know that adding in this last part is a bit off topic, but I just thought I'd repeat what I've heard tons of times)
I am still slightly wary of DVD for it's single downfall: It's inability to record data (without paying close to $500 for a DVDROM and $5000 for a DVD Burner)Once those fall to an acceptable price, I will be all up for it. (I currently DO own a DVD drive I got for the acceptable price of $150)
I'm just waiting for the day when CDs are phased out and there are DVD players in cars... basically, just plays the audio track and if you take the disc home, you can pop it in your DVD player and watch video too... and for the niffy expensive cars, you have a TV in there too to decode to video. Anyhow... $0.02 placed.

Eh... they may change Barney if it happened... and yes... they have banned gang shit... but this isn't a gang... Trenchcoats have been worn by billions of people in the past who don't think twice about killing... they're comfy, they're long, they protect from rain, they protect from cold... TRENCHCOATS ARE GOOD...:)
Anyhow, Yeahyeah, schools are paranoid, but it's funny how far they go. Hell, they were considering a dress-code at my school, but they know that half their students would go elsewhere if they did it. As a Senior in HS... I can freely say that I'd just test out if they told me I didn't have a choice, or that I couldn't wear one item of clothing that I chose. It's pure stupidity to me. The gov't should start backhanding themselves 'til they realize that individuals aren't stupid, even if the crowds are.
First of all - difference 1 is that you're going to a Christian School. Christian schools are not public schools. Have you ever even been in a public school? Though, you do seem right about some things. The "jocks" get a lot more attention here and yeah, the "heros" of the game get even more. Some of us ubertechs get our other way around things though. Another thing that I have to say here really quick - don't generalize... not all people are the same, even in the same country I live in.
what the hell does wearing a trench have to do with bad taste? If that's your standard style of dress, why should you change it. When some freak runs through the city wearing a Barney shirt killing people we don't expect children to stop watching Barney or advertisements to stop. If someone ran around with bluejeans on shooting at high-ranking-gov't officials, we wouldn't bug about that. Just because it's a trench, that doesn't make it bad taste... bad taste is walking in with the trench and fake guns:P
Aye, that is a very agreeable point... If you've gone through college, it is acceptable to have a GED. I'd prefer to take the other test out tho... it's closer to the real thing... you can get a job while in college... some extra cash for upgrading your PC;)
I have noticed that the jock/popular types seem to get more attention from teachers in most cases. I personally have made it known what I am and found that teachers can't survive without me. The tech-headed generation is on top of computers and therefore have the ability to rule the schools... just not in the same sense as the jocks... we can control the teachers.
Alright... yah, they killed people... I'm not saying I feel for them, and I personally am incapable of feeling for the victims as well... it's all lost on me... but anyhow... Yes.... MOTS people CAN express themselves. Some aren't capable of such... Yes, those types DO need some help. Death is inevitable... hell, I expect to die early. Look... just because they had some mental issues they didn't know how to deal with doesn't really make them worse people... it just means they needed some help. I don't feel for them, but I know how it feels to be the "loser" type...
One problem with GEDs... they aren't recognized as real diplomas... you can't even hope to get a job around some areas with one. Around here you'd need a real diploma... There is a way around this - take the Proficiency tests out....
From the outside schools usually look great... they get us kids out of our parents' hair and they "teach us" stuff... but the parents who see it as a good thing must have been popular or unridiculed children when in school... this is my last year in HS... I'm glad to be getting out and in to a world where the people are real and where the people realize that INTELLIGENCE, not sports is what keeps you on top of the world. Today, for the first time so far, someone actually bothered me about all this crap... a guy whose name shall remain unmentioned decided that he'd say something to the effect of "I better start being nice to you now... y'know... you might kill me or something" then started laughing... then he mentioned something to the effect of "Bet you'll be shooting people to get to the front of the line for StarWars"... these mental maggots need lives... and they think that WE do... the technological generation... the people who are 90% tech-head, 2% standard, 8% whatever else they choose... or even just the 90% whatever they choose... we're better than them. We ARE the future, and those "Jocks" and populars are nothing more than children - the advanced are the techs and the different people. The people who are REAL in society, not those who are controlled by their own desire to "fit in". What the hell does fitting in have to do with life anyways? I'm personally proud to be a geek... sometimes I wonder if being alone is worth it, but then I think about my choices... I'd rather be a lonely geek than a popular moron.
This isn't a split up... A split up would be the company no longer having committee meetings between the 5 divisions and not being allowed to share source with each other. Any DOJ member who believes that MS is actually doing something good here is foolish in my mind. This is nothing more than a way for MS to try to get the heat off their backs, and at that, a poor attempt. Come on, gates... you can do better than that... we all know what a weasel you are!
Well, I recently went out and did something stupid like buying the Guillemot "Phoenix" which also uses the Banshee chipset. Now, if you take all the Banshee cards (Fusion, Phoenix, and 3D Blaster Banshee) and place them side-by-side you may notice something. They are all identical. Except for the words painted on top of the chips. Anyhow, I went out and searched around on the Guillemot site. Apparently, someone had posted about a man who had an awesome site and had begun working on a Banshee X Server. It is only designed to work with GLibC and is, at the moment, Pre-Alpha, but... here's the site.... http://glide.xxedgexx.com/status.html... Enjoy!:)

That would be segmented SDRAM... they reported that it would *not* be segmented nor doubled.
