    A starship would be the biggest project in the history of man, it would dwarf the "great wall" and the pyramids and everything else put together, it would require the output of the entire planet for decades, it would cast trillions with no return on investment!

    Who will pay? Who will build? Who would design? Where would the materials come from?

    It's a swell idea, and like all purely theoretical exercises, fun to think about, BUT it's NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

    By "Mac" I assume you mean IOS? If by "Mac" you actually mean Macintosh, I think you have the numbers reversed. Macintosh has shrunk considerably in the past few years. while Linux has continued to expand. And isn't the latest "Mac" OS just a shell over BSD?

    $500 + to be a captive customer to a company that survives by making fragile, shiny toys for yuppies!

    I won an Apple Ipod touch v3, I found out that with considerable work I can watch video's & music that I did NOT acquire from Itunes and that I can check email and bring up web pages, I can't see the lettering until I use that finger expanding thing so that I can read one word at a time, and it only takes an hour to type in my password using the on screen keyboard, It was free, and at that it was overpriced!

    Apple's products overwhelmingly try to lock you into their marketplace and keep you out of the innards of their devices.
    Many lower end Android tablets can be converted to a main stream Linux distribution (with a little work).
