I know it's good for the community as a whole, but if it is too expensive for them and cost is an issue... most of the mainstream stuff is supported out of the box these days... and definitely cheaper to buy a new printer than write a driver
quite a few people find depressive to go to work period, I say we get robots to work for us and put everyone on permanent vacation... then it would take a while before everyone find a different reason to whine about mondays:)
Theoretically possible, in practice the 1/2 hour roundtrip time to mars may make things a bit difficult and more controllable... maybe to the moon with 1 s roundtrip time
Yep, the winner gets to go develop a planetary system with life, the losers's lives go into a black hole of oblivion:)
According to the factoid I just made up... I have been told Sol is a past winner, with a group of leeches on the 3rd planet away... it's tired of this unwanted attention and might go nova on their ass, show them how pissed it get.. like any respectable star
even free porn is legal these days:) (slashdot post about redtube case a couple days ago);)
I'm tired all these business whiners that have not adapted their business plan (including recording industries, newspapers, banks who expect a bailout any time something goes wrong)... I understand how it was important to intervene... but really... a little less whining, a little more sanity would be nice
You mean like Windows 3, 3.11, 95, 2000, Vista, 7? like processor manufacturers that had 386, 486, Pentium I to pentium 4, then heavoc broke lose... I definitely wish they had a more straight forward naming scheme Or maybe like slackware jumping from version 4 to 7? maybe like perl which has been on version 5.* since as long as I can remember maybe like eudora which tried to change completely the product from version 7 to version 8... to make things confusing they are using thunderbird 3... and started using version 2
let's face it, every one plays the numbering game, in this case, it's probably to show the product has matured (to be fair, it was based on netscape code - and I know there is a major change, major rewrite - which had been around for a while with much higher version numbers)
Good call, that's true, Civil war is the official name:). call it what you want... they killed the king, followed by a dictator (Cromwell)... very similar in many aspects (though different I agree) to what happened in the french revolution (which I agree also was a much larger scale) and ended up in a redistribution of power.
Didn't bill gates say 640K * (14.5 billions) * 4/3 * pi should be enough space for everybody, no matter what the activity, how much civilization expands;)
if the universe is 15 billion light years and that's only 1/250th of the space. Empty space? parallel universe. Is the universe this big giant godly fart?:)
if they are so important, it makes you wonder how they managed to go countrywide during the french revolution, the english revolution, various independance... maybe the internet was invented earlier than we thought... or maybe the internet is only a high tech version of the natural power of gossip that has existed for centuries and things would have happened anyway even without the internet
there is a saying that says, "you have to listen to experts, they will tell you what is not possible, with wonderful theories about why... then you should just go and do it":)
I am sure he's got a pretty logical argument... the same way I have heard years ago there was no way you would never ever get more than 64K out of a phone line... then there was DSL
some limits (like this one) are made to be broken:)
Is it only me or is Microsoft being a lot more agressive in litigation by suing a lot more and sponsoring people who sue competition. Not sure if it is a strategy shift since Bill Gates left or they just decided to attack competition in a more open way. Before, they would just change the protocols (like samba) so it was not backward compatible
maybe I am seeing something when there isn't... who knows?
Obviously, they had to do experiments in academic way before they invented the sausage... experimental method, repeatable results... the university had to come before the sausage... though I am not sure what came first the chicken, the egg, or the university;)... maybe the university was invented by a chicken who crossed the road... mmm, very deep questions, I'll have to ponder a little on that:)
LOL put me down as a volunteer... even without FTL :)

I think he's making a car analogy, talking about a negative infinity... a very bad car ;)
for a second I thought it was about a 24 core new server from sun... then I realized the solar flare was not the oracle purchase :)
I know it's not my most sophisticated comment, but I like open source so I am happy :)
I've been tracking all of your posts my friend and let me tell you, you've been busy!! :)
my advice to you, take a break once in a while :)

repositories in the US may work, but It'll just get some dudes to host them from a country with more loose ip laws
