We just purchased an HP LaserJet 2420. It is one of the fastest & most compact printers I have ever seen. We've had it for about a month now without any problems, paper jams, etc.. Granted, our printing volume is not high (50-200 pages per day).
I'm running it on an external HP Jet Direct box in our Citrix environment. I have not done any printing from linux. All in all this is a great printer!
What about tinker toys!?! I'm surprised they didn't make the list. Oh, the countless hours wasted building towns, cars, and other pointless things... now I just build software.
You can check out this Slashdot article about a new input device called a nouse.
A nouse make use of "Perceptual Vision Technology", which is "the technology for designing systems, referred to as Perceptual Vision Systems (PVS), that use visual cues of the user, such as the motion of the face, to control a program."
You just need an ordinary USB webcam and some special software (available here) to make it functional.
Anybody notice how the company name "ontro" is really the word "control" without the first and last letters?
I think these two guys are going for world control and domination. Start small with a self-heating can, move on to the U.S. Government, next the world!!
Well I DO support other artists as well, but I buy music based upon the "musicianship". If it sounds like crap, I don't want to listen to it. . . whether that's some independent unknown or N'Sync!
Are there any copy protection efforts in place for DVD's as of yet? I know I just ran into my first "noisy" CD this past weekend (I can't play it in my cdrom drive). How long will the movie industry hold off until we hear whining and complaining about copywrite issues from them? Will the new recordable DVD's cause problems in this area?

As seen previously, you could add your own windows
I know I would do it if I just happened to have 8 LCD screens laying around.

I think people smash their computers because of the need for this.

Games are fun... but being slashdotted must suck!

Oh Canada!
Hmmmm... strangely enough mine don't seem to last forever...
On an unrelated note, anyone know where I can get some hemp wallets?
Yeah, because moving my hand 1/4" 500 times/day is really getting me into great shape.
All your base are belong to us!!
Duke Nukem would be alright... But I'm still waiting for the next release of Ken's Labyrinth!!
So with all of these great time-killing activities... do you ever actually work??!
