My *mother* switched painlessly to Ubuntu. The first step is training them to use Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice, and VLC on their Windows machine. After a month or so of smooth sailing, install Ubuntu and show them where the new menu locations are.
My thoughts exactly. Community college isn't any different from high school except that it wastes less of your time. I could have graduated a year and a half early *without* the special plan, if I'd been so inclined, and if I had, I would have wanted to go straight to a real college (as it was I got to take classes for free at Middlebury College my junior and senior years of high school, which was my incentive not to graduate early)
Then you probably saw the drama-filled forum topic surrounding the game I've been developing, based on the same Torque Game Engine as Blockland, but with support for the standard LDraw CAD format. If you haven't, you may want to check out the current svn (https://svn.bountysource.com/tbg/trunk/), or our development website, http://www.cemetech.net./
To be fair though, it looks like Lego has created a totally different game from Blockland with some of the same game mechanics I've been hoping to implement (being able to build your own vehicles for example)
Eclipse in general is a pain in the ass. I've never used Komodo IDE because I have no interest in BUYING an IDE for hobby development, but Komodo Edit is a joy to use, so I would think that Komodo IDE can only be better.
That post makes it pretty clear that you aren't a mathematician or a scientist, because you seem to be unaware of the distinction between inductive reasoning (the process by which natural sciences--and theology progress) and deductive reasoning (the process by which mathematics and computer science progress).
We're not talking about album sales here. We're talking about software sales. I'm not saying your overall point is incorrect, but find statistics relevant to the topic at hand.
And quite honestly, I'd say 41% is BS. Maybe 40% of Windows XP installations are pirated, but I know very few people who don't pay for things like Office, Photoshop, etc.
I think I can explain

Interestingly, this is the first company I've heard of working on depolymerization instead of plasma gasification.

and we're sure it's not an April Fools joke released early, right? Or something from The Onion?
I think douglas adams had something to say on that subject.
Facebook, private by default? What is this nonsense!
Obligatory "here comes Gattaca"

i'm pretty sure i've seen that :(
I'm fairly sure both of those are sound options....
Terminology fail, amirite?
It's only one level deep, so it's more like plain old meta-suck.
hey man, you want to try some snow crash?
Or look at the treatment of OSC's Pequeninos.

Or just memorize them.
*cough* yes, I voted Ron Paul *cough*
to be fair, how many of the hackintosh crowd are actual OS X owners and didn't just torrent the DVD from TPB?
Your reasoning is impeccable good sir, and I stand corrected.
Obama - "Change we can forget about."
Only configurable? Did no one else immediately thing of the Fantasy Game and how it responded to Ender's needs?

I'm not sure if this was an attempt at trolling, or just random wtf-age, but I was legitimately amused by it.
