They wouldn't even have to write their own. Just buy Winamp from AOL, modify it a little and bamn they have a large, mostly clueless userbase under their control
Try telling that to the IT students we teach at my university. Of course if the academic staff refuse to think for themselves how on earth can they expect the students to?
How is it that someone can teach C++ programming but is incapable of using a graphical ftp client?
Because then the sane people have trouble reaching you too.
In IM situations where I don't want to talk to people who are pestering me I just make myself invisible (Easy in ICQ). If they still persist in sending me crap they go on ignore for a while.
And the interesting thing about that article is:
---
That situation was underscored last year in a failed attempt by BMG Germany to push secure CDs using technology from Israeli security company Midbar. After shipping 130,000 copy-protected CDs, BMG was forced to abandon the project in January as complaints piled up from customers, who said the discs wouldn't work on their players.

Doesn't this new tech come from an Israeli security company?
The BBC haven't actually done that many WHO radio shows. What you're thinking of is

It's a different company who just has the licence.
They release one a month. They also do Bernice Summerfield stories http://www.bernicesummerfield.com and have just released their first Tomorrow People story
I'm sure M$ can stop my copy of CDEX from using lame to create my mp3s. Give me a break. All this will mean is that M$ won't be giving you any tools to record mp3s and will be plugging the hell out of WMA.
You've been able to do that with SGs for ages. We have a SG cam hooked up to an Indy box that we can record and convert into *animated* ascii that will play back in a terminal.
The Scan player however has truly awful DVD output. Add that to Scan's notoriously bad customer service and you have a big waste of time.
If you can do without the VCD support try a Techtronics chipped LG3350E. Stunner of a player

Or it might mean as it did in my case
"Piss off."

Not in the UK they aren't. Why on earth do some people assume everyone is American?
Did anyone *not* see this coming?
I'm a big fan of Lexx and Stargate SG1. I can't wait for season 4 of Lexx where they encounter Earth of our time :)
Only 100k? Over at www.incidents.org the current total (when I looked) is 343k which beats last month easily and in a shorter time.
Is that such a problem these days when ram is so cheap?
They still suck though

It's free and works very well. I don't see many popups now and the ones I do see are 1 click away from being added to the black list
Before AG gave you the choice of installing Webhancer or not I never had any problems using Adaware to remove webhancer without breaking AG.

to download adaware will remove it leaving audiogalaxy none the worse for wearThat situation was underscored last year in a failed attempt by BMG Germany to push secure CDs using technology from Israeli security company Midbar. I wouldn't get 9.9 if I showed my cleavage. I have bigger breasts than some of the girls :)
So the coders will change their software so it works well. No biggie

Sorry to upset the Amiga lovers out there but the Atari ST version was first :)

I've got a Samsung 807 as well as the LG3350E but the Samsung has to many problems with some disks to make it my main player.
