This year they're also throwing around some glamours to let players take the part of monsters for a while.
IIRC, EQ tried this a couple years back and had to quickly shelve it because toons were getting owned by monsters that were manned by actual players with skill and strategery. Strafing, concentrating on spellcasters/healers. Hilarity ensued, and the idea was quickly shelved so as not to alienate the unskilled masses..
Not to mention all the HD content now being broadcast.
Since I got my 50" LCD Projection TV, PBS HD has become my new favorite channel. All sorts of HD programming, and much of it travel and nature type stuff, which is awesome to watch in HD.
Lastly, don't even get me started about how good the NFL looks in all its widescreen, HD glory..
Add to that the DVR that came in the HD tuner I got from the cable company so I can record the Daily Show, and its all good in the hood sir!
Well speaking for myself, I was referring to a post on theonering.net yesterday that stated there was footage that was "held back" from the extended versions of each, and at least hinted at a future release that could contain said footage.
It would not surprise me if we see a box set of extended editions that happens to have some extra footage that wasn't even in the original extended versions. Maybe Peter said he wouldn't, and if he did, I'm sure we'll never see a reversal of what someone said. In Hollywood? BALDERDASH I SAY!
I was not the one who pissed in your wheaties, please move along.
I mean, how can any other movie compete with LOTR's 1200 minutes of greatness (I'm talking about the EXTENDED EXTENDED Extended Super Bonus Box Set Release, scheduled for November '06).
1) Who says you have to keep your MCE PC running 24/7? The only shows I record are at night after I go to bed, so I leave it on overnight, but it's off all day while I'm at work.
2) Boycotting HP based on the comment in your sig would be asinine, IMO.
Yeah maybe the tanks you guys are use to only have the big cannon, but the ones I've seen have a nasty machine gun on top, plus dudes inside that probably have MORE machine guns, grenades, maybe an RPG or two.
Sure they have to be fueled, but I certainly hope the Civ games weren't hanging their hat on the "lay seige to the tank until they run out of fuel and/or food" angle to support spearmen beating a tank.
And as far as supporting tanks with riflemen, they both had 6 for defense (more advanced tanks even higher), so what exactly would be the benefit of that again?
My 97 Saturn SL has never gotten anywhere near 42mpg. Mine has averaged closer to 28 or so. Actually the single most disappointing thing about the Saturn has been the gas efficiency. Manual transmission and all...
The Tobacco Industry Supporters Organization of America has released a study showing a majority of Americans think smoking is good for you and should be encouraged!
Seems to me like this is a step in the direction of entities eventually only accepting mail from "whitelisted" persons or groups, which will in all likelihood lead to a "fee" to be on a whitelist, thereby causing e-mail to no longer be free...
Maybe I'm being short-sighted, but this sounds fishy to me..
But that's not what they are doing. Decency as defined by the SCOTUS refers to a "community standard" of decency.
If Howard is NUMBER ONE in those markets, and I'm pretty sure he was in at least two of them, I'd say the community (at least the community of radio listeners, which is the community this would apply to) DOES NOT think his show is indecent. The current administration, and the lackey they nepotistically(its a word!) put in charge of the FCC, are using their own PERSONAL OPINION of the definition of decency and moving forward as if that's the standard, ignoring the "community standard" stipulation. Furthermore, they're bullying the conglomerates by threatening to limit their access to further expansion, threatening to levy ridiculous fines, etc. if said conglomerates make a stink.
If you can't see how there are rights violation implications there, you're being obtuse.
Somehow, somewhere along the way popular perception changed to the idea that copyright serves the author. Not so, it always was about the people's interest.
No, it was always about serving both. If you don't appropriately serve the author, he isn't incented to keep creating works that benefit the people.
What's happened is the author has been more successful at using his resources to push the benefit line so its much more in his favor. The totally decentralized people haven't been able to muster an effective way to push the line back to where it was originally. Until we do so, the line will stay where it is or (in this case) be pushed EVEN FURTHER in favor of the authors...
They don't even factor in all the revenue the RIAA companies get from the tax on hardware and media. I bet that covers the 1 cd per 5000 download cost this study says they're losing.
Its really very simple. P2P allows us to sample the entire album before we buy it, and what we're finding is a lot of albums are crap on the whole, but some singles are ok. Those albums that are entirely good are still being snapped up, in some cases even more so due to filesharing, as the article points out.
Of course, when artists start getting payment from legal users that presume compensation for when the devices are used for piracy, they're more or less waiving their moral claim to any damages for piracy since they've already been paid for that.
Pretty funny how this is always overlooked.
I couldn't agree more, I think I'll go download some music this afternoon. I mean, I already paid for it when I bought my 2 HDs, my Rio, my CD burner, my blank CDRs, etc.

Good luck to whatever game is trying this now.
Excuse me, but if 70-80% of the public at large finds it patently offensive, why is he #1 in most or all of the markets he's broadcast in?
And since when did you become the final arbiter of what has public value, "regardless of how popular Stern is"?
YOUR ARGUMENT FAILS!

Why does my brain hurt when I ponder the thought of a Microsoft search engine providing unbiased results?

Destined to be movie of the century.

This is the stupidest part of Far Cry, which I just bought last weekend (on sale 29.99, only reason I bought it).
I agree with the save anywhere completely.
Two things:
1) Who says you have to keep your MCE PC running 24/7? The only shows I record are at night after I go to bed, so I leave it on overnight, but it's off all day while I'm at work.
2) Boycotting HP based on the comment in your sig would be asinine, IMO.
1. Sell buggy OS
2. Sell software that fixes bugs in #1
3. Profit!!!
Its like finding the end of pi.. Pure nirvana
Yeah, bad B-movies like Lord of the Rings, The Hulk, Matrix Reloaded, etc.
Heck they even showed the extended version of the first LOTR flick a few times.
Yeah, as a Links 2003 player (golf sim), if their physics made my game in Links as bad as my game on the real golf course, I'd be PISSED!

This got to be utterly ridiculous in Civ 2 and Civ 3.
When a group of dudes with spears can take out a tank, your game needs some work.
The movie Clerks.

What's to complain about? They're up front about it when you sign up for the service, if you don't like, don't use.
But either way, quit yer bitchin'!

30 minutes - Daily Show
30 minutes - Chapelle's Show or South Park
Ok, there are those days when I hit the trifecta and all 3 are on, so on those days its 1.5 hours.
Of course, when artists start getting payment from legal users that presume compensation for when the devices are used for piracy, they're more or less waiving their moral claim to any damages for piracy since they've already been paid for that.

has 44 minutes of content
Bit of a leap of faith there eh?
I'd say only about 5% of 1 hour programs contain that much content...
I haven't seen the movie on this yet, so I'm unable to comment one way or another.
