The problem is, they can take non-monetary things from you. With the "SCREW YOU!" attitude, a judge might throw you in jail just for spite (your freedom was taken away). If word gets out that you disparage your employers (or former employers), then companies will not hire you (your reputation was taken away).
I just got back home from Walmart. Don't go there until around mid-January (after everyone brings back all their gifts) if you can avoid it.
Anyways, I saw several people with more than one shopping cart. They were hauling two shopping carts around the store, barely fitting through the aisles. The two shopping carts were necessary because they were purchasing gifts for several people in their households. The gifts were large. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that one shopping cart was for girls (everything was pink, such as Barbie dolls), and the other one was for an adult (a BBQ grill).
There ya go, Walmart customer #98981663711 is
what inspired this lunacy. Or maybe that customer got the idea from those genious Amazon'ians ?
The system protects data by automatically scrambling it the moment users walk away...
What does it actually encrypt? All sensitive data? I doubt it could do that in 5-6 seconds. Also, how do you decrypt the data if you lose your key? Or what if you fire the employee and don't get the key back? How will you get the data, then? Is there a back door for sysadmins?
Would it be (legally?) possible for the Opera
folks to integrate the lynx browser directly
into Opera? I'd like to be able to browse
in a lynx-mode at the click of a button.
Why would I want that? lynx is the best
way I can think of to browse the web as a
handicapped person would. Also, I don't want
to open up another browser besides Opera to
get that functionality.
The last time I bought something at Home Depot, I got caught in line at the register for like 25 minutes. The woman ahead of me had to get something price checked (was taking forever), and all the other lines were real long. While waiting for the price check, I asked the woman at the register whether she could ring me up while they waited. She said no. Her register could only handle one transaction at a time.
How in the world is Microsoft software going to allow them to do two things at the same time?
I think Disney made the right call on waiting
to blitzkrieg the public with Spirited Away ads. If they wait until it gets tons of awards, then they'll surely make more money.
If the military is indeed concerned about the expansion of WIFI systems, I wonder what the SETI

difference to them?

Productions (that's the spammer's company name) violated a court injunction set in 1999 barring it from sending AOL members deceptive, unsolicited e-mail, which accounted for up to 25 percent of the bulk mail sent through AOL.
Could the current "bad" economy actually
encourage more people to innovate? People
hurt by the current economy will have to
do one (or maybe two) of these things:
Work at McDonalds.
Become a car salesman.
Do nothing until the economy comes back (if they actually saved money while they could).
Innovate something new and get the economy moving again.
I hope that the smart downtrodden will choose #4. And I hope that a few of those people will succeed.
