It can't be over priced if the market is bearing that price. The value of any product is exactly what the public is willing to pay for it.

I think "overpriced" is more relative to the one who says it's overpriced. MacDonald's is rather cheap, but I think it's overpriced because the quality is low and the heath risk is high.

This is more a problem of battery management. These Li-ion batteries need a specific and smart power input. Sounds like the embedded driver, probably not firmware updatable, is defective.

but an old dog knows already a lot of tricks, knows how to implement the tricks in such a way they can be extended later, and will not fall in most of the beginner traps when executing the tricks.

Buying an iPhone in the first place is evidence of not making purchase decisions based on common sense

Well, purchased an iPhone 6+ SIM-free to be carrier-independent two years ago. And I don't plan on upgrading it until at least Sept 2017. Cost spread over 3 years. Have been using the iPhone since the "3" (no competition at the time), and it's convenient to keep using the same phone apps and tools. Tried a Samsung and clearly its ergonomics are off compared to the iPhone. This is maybe a matter of opinion but some people are more or less ergonomics-sensitive... I am. For me, it's common sense to purchase an iPhone ; until 2014 it was, at least.
