    And since you're at it, when a "villain" falls into a hole (dug) he stops and remains in the hole, even if there is an empty space below (he doesn't keep falling ;-)

    But seriously if Slashdot starts doing clickbait garbage headlines like this, I'll probably be done. And I've been here for a very long time.

    I was more annoyed by the "new" delayed banners right side (that appear right at the time the mouse reached the area to click on replies). Thanks to a few AdBlock+ rules, not annoyed anymore, for now.

    Most natural elements are not known from most people (Rubidium, a.n. 37, 16th most abundant on Earth...) ; these super heavy elements need names, but that's for the physicists and other inner circles interested in physics.

  18. Many sites require a phone number before allowing someone to post reviews. A code wrapped into a SMS is sent to that number, and the user validates the account by inputing the code on the site. How come this is not enough? Some people have two or three phones, but compared to the many mail accounts that may easily be created and used..
    Using the ID card is the end of privacy. Sooner or later more sites and applications would require the ID, and people getting used to give it on the Internet would not hesitate anymore.

  25. That's not the only reason. Nowadays smartphones reached a comfort zone (size, specs & ergonomics) that tend to have people keeping their phone for longer. Incremental upgrades (at a significant cost) are not that appealing.
