    - because they never actually used Flash / Flex

    ...and:
    - it's proprietary, not really open.
    - much harder to maintain and make changes compared to other standards.
    - have to learn *another* language/system, screw that.
    - it's slower to load (I always click "Skip Intro"). No more snappy load times and performance.
    - does not index well in search engines.
    - Generally irritates the shit out of me since I have no interest in animation when navigating a site.
    - being able to *stop* the stupid distracting animation is not always possible.
    - Flash reminds of that other irritating phenomena, animated GIFS.
    - Flash is therefore a cancerous tumour which must be cut out forcefully with a table spoon.

Private users may fart around with online apps, but corporates at large will not.

Desktop word processing et al will always rule supreme (more efficient, faster, secure, etc); of course, I was about to respond to another post here about how FUCKING SLOW OO is compared to MS Office - what's up with all this fucked up bullshit Java everywhere? It's pathetic as a desktop development platform for one reason only: I shit faster than it can respond with a Yes/No dialogue. I started checking out Zimbra Desktop yesterday, and my *fuckdog* it's slow. What a fantastic looking and feature rich application absolutely ruined by poor performance.

What happened to doing it properly in C++? So many things are going backwards for the sake of portability WHEN IT'S NOT NEEDED - Windows, like or not (I don't), is the only platform to develop for numerically and economically speaking. For fuck sakes.
