    Since when are "liberals" against rich people being taxed more? Yeah, let's look at the actual case: a woman who already got alimony and social security from her ex-husband, and then hooked up with an heiress complaining about how unfair she is being treated...

    The state was trying to incentive breeding pairs to grow the population, but fine, let's tax all widows equally: single "undocumented" mothers are after all the foundation American was built on.

    If a drone is monitoring a private residence or business or following someone to one I think a warrant ought to be required (subject to the normal hot pursuit exceptions). But if you're monitoring some public area, no big deal.

    Public areas are bounded by businesses and private residences, so I don't really see the distinction. Drone sees all. Might come into play if you own a lot of acres, but a court ruled that cops can even install cameras on larger land holdings without a warrant. Strange how privacy was supposed to be a restriction on the government, but it ended being a restriction on us.

    Anyway, this is a relief, I've been following you around for the past 6 months, and was starting to feel guilty, but now I know it's OK... as long as I stop sleeping under your bed (though it obviously doesn't bother you so what's the problem?!).

    Judging by women's magazines, women like looking at pretty women too. There also an element of schadenfreude, criticizing celebrities' "plastic surgery" and "anorexia", playing to women's envy. Which is what is really going on here. The women aren't demanding the addition of "booth studs" or appearances by Justin Bieber, they want the women who look better than them to lose their jobs.

    Maybe they don't use telephones or computers? Most of these government officials who assure us it's no big deal for them to read our emails or listen to our calls have staffers or other intermediaries handle all communications to set up face-to-face meetings.

    The good news is that in another ten years or so the politicians will start to be replaced by people that grew up with the Internet, that understand it better and that will at least have a grasp of the pragmatic realities involved.

    I wouldn't rely on internet dwellers to have a sense of perspective. Soon we'll probably be able to call 911 to have police dispatched when we read a mean facebook comment.

    The most common thread in criminals, particularly murderers, is poor impulse control and emotional volatility. People kill because they get angry, or desperate. 3/4 of people who attempt suicide will be deterred by a simple obstacle or obstruction in their way.Most murders and suicides are actually rational.

    Is this even true? Criminals and depressed people may have poor impulse control, but it's a persistent problem. So the only practical implementation of your line of thought is lock all us in cells and take away our shoelaces, forever. Gun control is about limiting any action. Rolling Stone even recently had a feature that listed the victims of gun violence who were "senselessly" shot dead when they tried to mug, burgle, or rob.

    What percentage of taxes goes towards essential infrastructure? Paying too much tax instead of investing in research, production, and employment is going to be worse for both the company and for society in general.

    I look down on them because of their widespread bad business practices: the majority of the time you can expect price gouging and poor workmanship. They'd be better off working for Microsoft with that attitude.
