    Maybe in a legal sense, but you can certainly communicate without words. Indicating that you won't compete on price if your competitor doesn't isn't a complicated message to send. And since secret deals aren't legally enforceable, it's really the behavior that matters anyway.

    They would have to index Microsoft's domains, but since it can't easily be verified whether 3rd parties are respecting Microsoft's trademarks and licenses, excluding them is really the right thing to do.

    Saves them money, and also encourages group assimilation like in the military, where you don't even get toilet stalls. Identification with the school produces alumni who donate, though nowadays kids are looking for better amenities, which the premium schools at least will offer as a selling point

    Not really... Most states are discouraging teens from driving at all. Death is better than an empty life. And all this hysteria over risk and arousing discussion of "harsh punishment" is actually just gratuitous now that the driverless car is almost here.

    You can transfer 1TB/month over 3mbit DSL...

    Unregulated monopolies are abusive since the company doesn't have to win customers, but the customers actually have to beg for crumbs of the product. Not worth the time to offer extra services even for a higher price since almost unlimited profits can already be extracted with no effort.

    Yeah, there is no fun slip-and-slide slope where ISPs compete for the cheapest per GB pricing. Instead each local monopoly looks at what the others get away with and tries to screw its customers a little bit more. The government must regulate utility monopolies pricing. 1000% profit margins are unacceptable: tear down the wires!

    Where I live there are no such choices, and I actually buy a lot of staples online since they are cheaper via UPS. Cheap healthy options are still available in chain stores, but there is still more effort involved. Most people aren't very educated about cooking or what they eat, and it doesn't really matter anyway, because laziness has become more of a community virtue than conscientiousness.

    In the case of the internet, government says that communications technology has made existing laws insufficient, and it establishes new powers to maintain order; in this case technology has made existing laws excessive (it has not been normal to put a helicopter over every street to keep the peace "for quite some time"), and further limitations of government power are necessary.

    Police make a lot of arrests for unrelated crimes when they pull over cars. Maybe the cars can scan your face for warrants, sniff you for drugs, and if there is a positive result lock the doors and drive you to jail...
