Welcome back to the mid-90s. Do these teenaged whiz-kids do their personal computer hacking on-line? They probably use the World Wide Web too, from Mosaic or something, surfing through cyberspace.
Now I feel like washing out my mouth.
Really, who cares? I'd just do a few virus/rootkit scans (Or whatever it is you do with Windows) and use it. I mean, it's a netbook, and you got it for free.
This will make the next version of the Nokia internet tablet series very interesting indeed, I think. Will this be a new Android, running on both netbooks and higher-end smartphones? Anyway, I like the idea.
Tried to think of something to do yesterday when the google car came, but then went on Google earth and realized that they already had when I was on vacation.
But still, the question remains, what other awesome things could you do with a Google maps car? What would xkcd do?
I disagree strongly with you about Blender's UI. The stable UI is indeed filled with annoyances, but other than that it is an entirely logical system. It is basically a tiling window manager, with the "windows" being the various functional parts of the program.
And the current unstable version fixes all but one of those annoyances, the remaining annoyance being the window selection dropdown. Also, the unstable version doesn't look like it was a product of the mid-90s anymore.
I don't think that GIMP is "Ported" to OS X, I think that it is just compiled using the OS X port of X.org on OS X (Similar to the situation with GIMP on Windows). So yes, any changes made to GIMP are universal.
Not only have there been rumors about this for months, but I've seen at least one confirmation from a developer. Easy way to get a story on/., huh?
But of course I support this decision and think it's a great move away from the UIs of yesterday and all the rest of it.
Speaking of that, to quote the article, Google is telling users to "upgrade to pretty much anything else". I find this interesting. Is there any browser better than IE6 that Google does not want people upgrading to?
Yeah, because forced upgrades also go over so well with this crowd. Should a RHEL/SLES/Ubuntu LTS release of Linux force upgrades to Firefox? Is it okay to do that just because the next major version is free?
Maybe if old versions of Firefox running on RHEL/SLES/Ubuntu LTS represented over 25% of the global browser market share.
Or would you rather Microsoft moves more in the direction of Apple too, making decisions for you than to leave it to the users?
That's an interesting point. In some cases such as this one, that would actually be a good move.
There is already an "Irony mark", already implemented and a standard part of the basic fonts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irony_mark
Hurray for obscurity! (Is that even how you use it?)
If you look in the Bible as you have done you will find that the whole deal is incredibly unbiblical. Their whole system works on provocation, something that was not taught in the Bible, as stated in a post before this they made their own "Conservative Bible" (The Bible explicitly condemns adding or taking anything away from the Bible), and then there's their horrible misconceptions about hate. The list goes on.
You've guessed wrong. The 1mp camera on my phone is just fine for me because I don't shoot serious pictures with it.
Again, I know that the market is full of consumer full HD camcorders. I'm just saying that the prices are ridiculous. In my original post I said nothing to (intentionally) imply that consumer-level 1080i/p cams don't exist.
Never said that consumer HD camcorders do not exist- I'm just saying I am not willing to shell out 700$ for it, because anything less is sub-standard. A more realistic price is 400$.
It's the future already!
Maybe it's about time that the standard consumer camcorder takes video in full HD for a decent price? I'd like to see that first. But no, focus development on something comparatively few people care about and are willing to pay for, not something that should have been done a couple of years ago.
I just love the title. It's like ordering a pizza and getting the wrong toppings, so you get a free pizza, but you love the toppings on the first pizza anyway.

Too late! Information overload!
...Whether they choose to focus on that area or not is a different story.

That is why you tag the story with "typoinsummary".
I wonder how long the text/images last after being printed? Also, how about making notes on the paper? (Maybe a heat pen like silverpig suggested?)

I fear for my generation.

It looks like /. strips out that character. Nevermind.

Yeah I suppose so. Of course, if I got paid to take videos, it would be a different story.

Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure. Okay that's done with.
If the embroidering process wasn't a problem, #8 stands out as the best designed.
Hopefully they will see this while browsing /. during work and straighten their ways.
I mean, that happens all the time, doesn't it?
