Twitter isn't designed for discussions, it's designed for announcements. If a weatherman makes an announcement that a tornado is forming north of a city, you wouldn't expect everyone - or anyone for that matter - to call him up and have a discussion about it.
You know, McDonald's has their name trademarked. However, the companies that put out phone books don't have to get prior written permission to list them in the phone book. I don't need prior written permission to mention on a blog that I bought a Big Mac and it was cold (thought they'd probably throw a slander charge at me). Mentioning a trademarked name isn't against the law.
Why is everyone having such a hard time with this concept?
IDK, especially since I already have one in my home. It's a flat "pad" that plugs into the wall. You lay a Wii controller on the pad, and it charges the controller without plugging it in to anything. Sounds like this is the same technology referenced in the article.
If they are indeed overpriced, then why doesn't 1 competitor just come in with a ridiculously low price and suck up all the "cheap" market?
The same reason they are marked up to begin with: Profits. If you mark something down $200 from your original price, you could end up making less money than your competitors even if you DO get their potential customers.
I used to take $1.25 to school every day for lunch. Today a kid would get robbed and killed for that much.
I'm guessing this setup is to monitor food inventory and how much to charge parents' for each kid's food.
Let's see, you have an airliner with a pilot, a co-pilot who's job it is to fly the plane and keep all of the passengers alive if the pilot dies, and a stewardess who's job it is to serve food and make sure the passengers are comfortable. Out of those three, let's get rid of the co-pilot to save money.
I'm honestly not trying to troll of flamebait, but what difference does the "study" make whether it's correct or not? Those who use torrents are going to use them, those who don't will continue not to, and those who think torrent sites are the root of all evil will continue to think THAT way, too. If the amount of illegal activity is 10%, 50%, or 95%, authorities aren't going to lower their guns as long as there is ANY illegal activity.
I'm sure someone basically mentioned this, but under normal circumstances, legally hams only talk to other hams on the radio. If you are wanting it to REPLACE a cell phone, don't do it. If you want it for emergency communication in the event you get hurt, or you want it to just spend time BS'ing to someone else, then it would be perfect.
If they do detect an asteroid on a collision course with earth, I hope they take it more seriously than they took millions of gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. They'll probably just pass legislation banning asteroids from hitting the earth, then debate for years about who's responsibility it is to stop it.
We don't know that other mammals CAN'T do this, but as for humans, we haven't evolved to process infrared or microwaves for the same reason we haven't grown gills for breathing underwater: It's not necessary to the species.
Too bad there isn't a way to ship the firmware update on a data part of the disc itself. Then you insert the disc, firmware is upgraded (the first time you insert), and no internet connection is ever needed.

Call it and see who answers.
is truthfulness.
Was this an inside job, or are sensitive government and military sites actually internet accessible?
The Taliban is responsible for this, and it is a threat to the infrastructure of the United States. We'd better send troops immediately.

Thank goodness they acted so quickly!
You are too stupid to live....
Wow, anonymous cowards sure are getting trolled good tonight.

Things in flash don't disappear when you unplug it.

At least he's too high profile to assassinate.
The only people who get assassinated are high profile people.

I'd take free ice cream in exhange for a full body scan.
Well sure, who wouldn't?
Agreed. I honestly had never heard of the movie until this article. I don't remember seeing any advertising of any kind.

Leisure Suit Larry did that, I believe. At least in one game.

IS the driver liable if she's just walking aimlessly down a highway? Where I'm from, it's actually illegal to walk down a highway with no sidewalk.
Nobody's perfect, lady, including Google. Maybe Google should sue you for not having the sense to stay out of the road.
I'm working on a portable power supply right now. I'm going to call it a "battery".
