There hasn't been any innovation at Google in a long time.
I have to strongly disagree. Have you tried www.froogle.com ? How about the google image search? They've always got something big going on at google! I can't wait to see their next new big thing.
Paying for a patent is the cheap part. It gets more expensive to prevent enfringement. I have doubts about this company going up against the goliath corporations using this technology.
I would have loved to have had one of these in College. I hated taking notes off the chalkboard in classes with lots of symbols like Heat Transfer & Diff. EQ. Taking notes with a laptop just isn't practial although I don't know much about the new webpads.
With something like this I wouldn't have to keep going back & forth between my notes & the chalkboard and could have paid more attention to what was being discussed.
I haven't done much research on this subject, but I'm guessing that the most potential for this technology is in electronics. As long as the "ink" is reasonably priced, imagine downloading or designing custom circuits. No hassles of tracking down that hard to find IC chip, drilling PCB boards, or soldering those tiny beads. LEDs could be designed into the board instead of merely soldered to it. NASA would love this stuff.
5) Florescent bulbs put on a dimmer switch create an annoying whining noise and will have a significantly lower life span. I'm not sure if this applies to LEDs.
Ever notice how hard it can be to read through a "man" page? What if we also had a "dumbed down" version of a man page available for newbies? eMan (easy man) or something like that.
Damn - The narrow mindedness of Moore's Followers has reached slashdot. Your comment was rated at a 5 a few minutes ago, but as I type this it is now a 3. It looks like there's people that don't want your message to be seen.
I like your idea of swapping the tables around. That gave me an idea - H ow about a table with a mechanism that actively changes it's coefficient of friction randomly?
pay them more :)
so true!! - mod parent up
Mr. AC is probably a paying slashdot subscriber. When you subscribe, you have access to slashdot articles before nonpaying members.

Why is this all of a sudden a big deal when you put the camera on a phone? Small, very concealable cameras have been available for quite a long time.
Camera Phones can send pictures directly to others over the internet potentially making the "damage" permanent.

I wonder if they'll be able to use fuel cell technology in the future?
I heard that Mrs. Bobbit got caught using her husband's password.
Ain't that the truth!

Today I was visiting one of the local casinos and I laughed out loud when I saw one of the slot machines decked out in a "winning for dummies" theme.

I don't know whether to be flattered or offended. This thing looks just like me except for the glasses.
Perfect for Michigan roads.

These would be cooler still if they made a little pod to place my old GI-Joe Soldiers in.
Where does this $600+ million go?
:-)
who gets it?
Competitors like SuSE Linux?
Microsoft customers?
Goverment pork?
slashdot user brad3378?
Or at least unplug it first
LOL
seriously though - if you must take one apart,
be careful what you touch.
