I just saw the 3rd movie last night at the theatre, and I swore that the eye color of one of the characters changed from scene to scene. I don't remember the character's name, but she looked a lot like snow white with fair skin and long dark hair. If you watch this movie, watch for it.
There was an article a few days ago about smart billboards. The content of the billboard was based on the radio stations that the traffic was listening to.
I know that not everybody listens to the radio, but maybe it would be a good idea to have "smart" traffic lights that could predict a car about to run a red light based on how fast the radio signal is approaching.
I think you were right the first time.
I've also got a Hayabusa, but frankly, I find it kinda hard to view the instrument cluster because of the windshield. I'm six foot 2 and tend to ride up close to the tank, so the windshield actually blocks my view. I don't think this product is something for everybody, but I could find a use for it.
By the way,
I got in an accident on my Busa a couple months ago and I'm parting it out it's a 2003 with chrome on Black paint. Let me know if you need any parts and I'll email ya more pics.

> I guess we should just be thankful that you're on a bike, since when you finally wreck you'll cause a lot less damage to others than you would if you were driving an SUV.
Got that right!
on My hayabusa I need less than 1/4 mile to accelerate to 140 - in an SUV I'd need a supercharger and probably a good 2 miles or so of full throttle.
one of the many fun things about riding a bike is that you can get insane speeds out of the shortest roads.
No, I wouldn't consider myself a player - far from it, but yes I do read these websites. You can always learn from others even if you don't agree with their philosophies. If you'd consider yourself more of a "niceguy" than a "player", you should still read this stuff and figure out what you need to do differently to start scoring.
I work for Ford, and I just had my Windows 98 computer upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro. about a month ago - I do not know of anybody on the Ford Campus Running XP here in Dearborn.
I'm just curious - how is this technique achieving accurate control of the air/fuel mixture ratio? Can oxygen sensors still accurately determine if the burn is/was lean/rich ?
or they may have been able to mention that they were passing on the additional costs to the consumer - it costs much more to run refridgeration devices on hot days than cold days.
Firstly, Cost Carbon Fiber is Still WAYYYY out of budget for automanufacturers - if they like be economically competitive. - Not only the cost of the Material, but the cost of Manufacturing. Stamped steel is very inexpensive - even with stamping dies that cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Safety This is the big one. Fiberglass & Carbon Fiber don't have the energy absorbing characteristics that steel has. Crumpling steel in an accident absorbs a lot of energy in an accident - while brittle materials like carbon fiber & Fiberglass shatter.
Aluminum is being investigated seriously, but even that has it's problems. The cost of the material is obviously higher, but so are the manufacturing costs. Aluminum isn't as welder friendly as steel. Most designs assemble aluminum body parts with rivets - which pose additional problems. Another consideration: Because of dissimilar metal corrosion, you can't just bolt an aluminum body panel to the first piece of steel you see. Lastly, Aluminum loses it's weight advantage over steel once the loss in strength is taken into consideration. - The material isn't as strong as steel, so more needs to be used.
Don't think for a minute that Auto Manufacturers haven't looked the alternatives. In our current cut-throat market, we're all desparately seeking an advantage over our competitors.
So how come I've never heard any stories about FBI agents busting down the doors of Spammers? Surely spammers with a 28.8 modem waste more resources than people that tweak a cable modem.
Trains are great for Germany, but the US is just too big to justify the costs of adding railways to every town. The trains themselves aren't exactly cheap either.
Subways and busses cannot and should not replace automobiles. You're making the assumption that there are established routes to my destination. If I want to make a 5 hour drive through the desert on the weekend, are you suggesting I should pay a Taxi driver to drive 10 hours (including his return trip)?
To be fair, the costs of public transportation being cheaper than automobiles in Europe is partly because your fuel taxes subsidize public transportation. Is it really cost efficient to move an empty train or bus?
Is a direct performance comparison between Drinking & Driving, Talking & Driving, and Elderly Driving.
I have no reason to believe that a person headed home after 2-3 beers at the bar is any more dangerous on the road than a guy blabbing on the phone. The main difference is that the drinker gets his face smeared in the dirt when he gets caught. Our society just learns to treat the drinker as the criminal more-so than the equally challenged Elderly driver or cell-phone user. Be honest with yourself. Who's really more dangerous behind the wheel?
In my opinion, what is really needed is some sort of GPS (or simliar) based autopilot feature. This is probably at least 10+ years away, but if used widely, I'd predict to see a 95+ % decrease in Fatalities, lower insurance rates, Reduced Commuting times, less maintainance costs (less stop & go driving), improved fuel economy/costs, and less stress while traveling. There wouldn't be any reason to prevent people from using Cell phones, watching movies, surfing the web, or even cracking open a beer while traveling.
If everybody had a guidance system (one that communicates with other vehicles), there would no longer be a need for Stop signs, traffic lights, or maybe even street lights. Heck, it might even eliminate the need to own a vehicle - maybe you could "page" a nearby transporter to come pick you up right by the front door - not at the far side of the parking lot.
Somebody work on this. You've got at least one eager customer waiting.
mod parent up
If I cover my ears & eyes for 30 seconds while commercials are on, is it considered stealing?
please Mod this up.

another use:
Take a digitized model of your house and import it into Quake.
Dr Atkins was not a fan of Aspertame - and I can see why - when I started drinking diet pop with it, my weight loss hit a brick wall -
Lost 50 lbs last summer on Atkins and it's been off a year

Nor will anybody assume that you are a genius for reading slashdot.

So how do we know the anonomous writer of the SoBig virus isn't already near the top of the list?

> Carbon Fiber can absorb more of an impact than any other known material on earth
Bullshit
Please show me proof.
Carbon Fiber is a very strong material, yes,
but it is also brittle.
WOW - sounds like even the military has too many of these things going around
It's not that simple young Jedi,

I haven't read the article, I'll admit.
But surely there are potential ways around the patent.
How exactly are we definining a "click" ?
Would a pulldown menu be considered a click?
would a text box be considered a click?
Does "a click" need to happen with a mouse?
If so, why not just navigate through a webpage using keyboard quick keys?
Yet another reason not to share your root password with your wife!
How about something that will interface with my palm pilot?
I carry the thing with me everywhere anyway.
Bluetooth anyone?
