    I hear lots of projects starting with or switching to Qt these days, and none that switch to or start with Gtk.

    I started my project on November on GTK. It's on Freshmeat, so I don't know how you missed it. I really like PyGTK and Glade, and are very easy to use and extend. Qt is very nice, too nice for me. I mean, I don't really feel its' L&F. Not that it doesn't work, it's just that I don't quite like it but I find that other people do, so it's good to have them both.

    Exactly, but probably most of my friends in Facebook also have gmail accounts so it's not big deal. I don't think that the smart people of Google haven't thought of this, so there must be "something" we just don't know yet. Anyway, apart from the stupid FarmVille and such games in FB (which many people do play) there's just too many people in FB and almost everyone uses it. Seems a tough move, let's see how it goes.

    By which country's law? My country's law, EU law, U.S. law? I mean, sourceforge is used around the globe, not only on the U.S. Here we don't have stupid export restrictions to any country, hell, I can even sell rum to Cuba if I want to.

    Actually, I've seen some RoR screencasts and most of them are made with the Aqua L&F. Doesn't matter the OS, but always the same L&F, coincidence?

    True, and actually, if someone shoves a C4 capsule up their ass, this stupid machines won't detect it. Hell, they can even swallow a complete explosive device and they can't do shit. So, why all the trouble, all the privacy violation? How many terrorist attacks have actually happened against aircrafts? More people die on the road or in aircraft accidents than on terrorist attacks. All this "air security" is complete bullshit, and people are "fine if we're secure". Come on! Two hours to board an stupid airplane is fine? Naked pictures of your child is fine?

    What I find more intriguing is the real reason behind all of this crap. Distract people from real problems? Collapse the air transportation system? Mess with our minds? Totalitarian control?

    Why all this noise on the stupid iPad? Come on people, if the thing doesn't work for what you want to do, then don't buy it. Are you stupid enough to think that because you complain in your small, three readers blog, Apple is going to give a f*** ? They don't as long a the other 90% of buyers who are not computer geeks, hackers and tinkerers, buy the stupid device and play (pay) along their rules. Go buy a REAL computer or a N900 and use those to teach your kids how to program. And yeah, I too started tinkering with a Mac translating apps on System 1.0 but now I don't even care what Apple does or doesn't. Hey, they're nice but I wouldn't recommend it to any one.

    It's not just about "mine is bigger" but also about economy. I don't know, but probably some of this jets are to be sold to other countries so this is free publicity.

    Well, my OSS project doesn't have lots of users, only some of my co-workers, but I do try to keep updated the project's site documentation and activity by fixing bugs and using the tools given to me to report all of this. If a potential user comes by, he can easily see that even for a one person project, it's alive. And yes, it's here: http://launchpad.net/mcm/

    In Spain, I've been told that we can do pretty much the same thing, except that it doesn't work on Linux, so I don't know if it's true.

    I think his point is that Ogg can always be improved to work things out better. It's still a young format and much improvements can be made. So, what happens when H264 includes some bug and they won't fix it? I think you can agree on pretty much everyone hates Flash, and H264 is Flash all over again:

    I know I like a game when I've played too much of it. I really liked Fallout 3 and every time I hear about the "National Mall" I'm automatically thinking about mutants. Also, I once picked one of my wife's hair clips, just in case I needed later.

    Yes, this is something I blame sites like engadget and such do to generate traffic. If Jobs spits of a window they all go nuts with the ramifications it could have on their new gadgets and provide ten stories about it.

    Does it run on Linux? Doesn't seem so, and that's sad.

    This is where we get when everything is a GUI. As long as I have a decent shell & environment, I think I prefer shell scripting.

    I was thinking about this same thing. I don't know about Mac or Windows, but I'm able to do anything from the CLI on Linux. This macros toy would be written faster using bash; just google for "bash change IP address". I believe my grandma would find it easier to just copy/paste the answer than knowing how to take a screenshot.
