Jack: (Standing in line with basket full of Maxi's)... 2, 3, 4... that ought to be enough.
Frank: (Gets in line behind Jack)... Jack, is that you, you old dog?
Jack: Frank! How's it going, friend?
Frank: Great, great... (notices basket) Looks like the old lady has got you running errands again.
Jack: No, no, these are for me. I've got a lot of work to do.
Frank:... I don't read.
Jack: Well just last week I was hunched over whacking the weeds when I noticed a strange discharge seeping out of my Grace's prizewinning flytrap! There is much to be done if I'm to save that old beast.
Frank:...aaaaalrighty then....
Since hitting a high of around US$9 per 64M-bit chip in 2000, the price has fallen to below $1 and newer, more advanced chips are also under price pressure
Prepare for flood of "Why in my day, RAM cost... I can still remember my first 8086.... blah blah" posts...
Actually, wouldn't it make more sense as just "Enter the Dragon" ? When I think dragon, I think penis. Unless you're sticking things down the urethra... but that would be a sucky porno.
a couple blank CDs : $1.00
54" big screen HDTV: $3000

Your comment brought to mind an interesting point. For decades, console makers have practically been losing money selling console hardware, and making it back from licensing and add-on peripherals. I wonder if the hard drive unit is a money-loser or a money-winner for Sony. After all, it is a game-enabling device, so it would make sense that Sony could recoup it's money from the sale of games that require this addition. But then again, it's something that many users might not want to shell out money for (i.e. "I already payed for this piece of crap once and now I gotta pay MORE?"), and might require subsidizing the price of.
i've played pac-man before & I'd recognize the Super Mario Bros with no problem...I don't understand what you are getting at.....
he's either saying that
a) rave-goers are too young to remember
b) or rave-goers are just culture consuming craps that can't even remember the last fad they flocked to.
This reminds me of the Galactic Police PDA thing that Mihoshi had in Tenchi Muyo. It was like a pencil but pressing a button caused a screen to unravel itself out of it like a paper scroll. That would be uber-cool. Instead of looking like a dork with a Palm bulging in my pants pocket, I can look cool with a PenPDA stored snugly in my pocket protector!
or you can just set up multiple inter-connected stations... like a beowulf cluster hahahaha. that way there will be a power plant exposed to the sun at mostly any given time of day (except when the Earth is blocking the Sun of course). though i guess the extension cords would get a bit lengthy... i guess we can just use mirrors to reflect the light to one central power station.
I have a PalmVx and must admit that I really like the long battery life. But I am always finding myself drooling over the color displays at Best Buy. I think it has less to do with the "color" and more to do with the contrast and vibrance that a color display implies. Current black and white LCD's available on most handhelds are neither black nor white. They are varying degrees of squash. If I had a display that was truly black and white, THEN I'd be happy with it. For now I can only dream of having a sexy color display.
Sucks to be that guy. I'm wondering what kind of compensation this guy is getting from Big Blue. Or if that non-compete clause is gonna keep him from picking up garbage for 6 months after he leaves the company.
I think you're missing the point (or at least part of it). Even if they did get the game to run directly off the CD, the load times and performance of the game would pale in comparison to most games designed specifically for a console. For instance, the XBox has 64 MB of RAM, but you can bet your biscuits that one level of a game requires more than that (sounds, movies, anims, models, textures, etc). Do you want to wait the 120 ms seek time it takes for the XBox to find the right WAV file each time a character shoots a bullet? Things have to be optimized, and files have to be either compressed or loaded intelligently into memory.
the old bait and switch eh? strangely sadistic in a pull-the-dollar-on-a-string-away-from-the-starving -bum kind of way. but in reality it's just good business.
because if it were objectionable then the sytem wouldn't play it unless you checked the box first! but you're still right, typing it into the textbox would take a lot longer than just reading through the lyrics.
Generally, the armies of the Underworld are unleashed to destroy the earth (yet again), although it isn't clear why they ever went away.
Because they were defeated the first time around, genius! This is even *explained* in the narration at the beginning of the movie!
:) ok, maybe i'll make some sense this time. 1) jonkatz wrote that he didn't understand why anubis' army disappeared after anubis took the scorpion king's soul. 2) you misunderstood him by thinking that he was referring to scorpion king's mortal army (which WAS defeated and banished to the desert). 3) then i replied to you trying to point out the misunderstanding. 4) then you replied, still confused. 5) then i replied again and sounded like a babbling idiot. 6) then you replied once again. 7) now i'm trying to explain more clearly but i doubt i'm doing any good. heheh.

How about Global Thermonuclear War?
Wouldn't you prefer a good game of chess?
"Ya khont" is the most offensive sounding missile I've ever heard of.
What's LOOM(TM)?

Ouch, phantom pains!
Dammit, Jim, I'm a contestant, not a chef!

Keyword: IMAGINE ???
I dunno, I'm just as puzzled as you are. Maybe they mean if the phone lines were out, and you had wireless connectivity?
Where do I remember that from? Please, God, don't let it be from Josie and the Pussycats. I want to forget everything about that movie.
Both my elementary and high school had cardboard walls. It really sucked, unless you liked learning European History in Algebra class.
i slept with your wife!

"I can't drive..... FIFTY FIVE!"
Between that and "Mas Tequila," driving just ain't what it used to be.
