    So, what would women want? Would women consistently want, say, girly-men and dominatrix-type women? I'd say that's a negative. Look at the "women" magazines that sell piles of copies. Ever notice that the pictures inside are very similar to the ones in Maxim? Really, they are almost the same damn thing, only one has stories that entertain guys, and the other has stories that entertain girls.

    In Canada, it is perfectly legal to sell lockpicks to anybody. Restricting the sale of a thin piece of metal seems pretty rediculous, especially since you could easily make a decent set on your own for very cheap.

    Although, up here, they are a bit less useful. THere's a lot of people who don't even lock their doors.

    That was the first thing I thought of too. Maybe this could be implemented where only the Major version number of the DLL was registered, and the minor numbers could be modified.

    Then, all that is left is not changing the APIs between minor revisions.

    Also, to sell say, Microsoft software as a retailer, do you not have to be Microsoft authorized. There must be some clause in the Microsoft/Vendor agreement stating that they must accept refunds.

    However, you bought a product from CompUSA that says inside it that you can return it if you don't like it. Lets go over this again. CompUSA sold YOU a product, and inside this product, it says that YOU can return it to THEM if you don't like it.

    Maybe they shouldn't sell products that say you can take them back if they refuse to take them back.

    You mean like on this board? The Giga-Byte DualBIOS system is pretty handy for bad bios flashes.

    Firstly, can anyone envision what could possibly do this? Does your browser have to be trojoned to accomplish this feat? Could it be an IE-only kind of design bug?

    Quote the bandwidth monitor on our residence network. We are using a 3Mbit/640kbit DSL connection that costs $99 CDN / month. Somehow, I think that our ISP would be considerably grumpy with us if your prices were accurate. They haven't said a thing.

    HTTPS is not entirely secure. Ettercap will sniff HTTPS traffic, including traffic through a proxy.

    This isn't a huge problem anyways. Typically, the top PCI slot and the AGP slot share an IRQ, and putting a card there has a tendancy to break things (especially with Via motherboards)... Diagnosing shitty problems like that is especially annoying.

    A better bet though would be to choose UDP:53, provided that the remote end wasn't also running DNS of course. They'd have a fun time if they tried to firewall off *that* particular UDP port on their "great fireall of Panama". ;)

    Except the ISPs could block UDP on their outside routers, and force you to use their DNS servers/caches. Sure, it sucks for people like me who run their OWN dns caches, but they obviously don't care about what the users want anyways.

    OK, so what NDA did CmdrTaco et al sign that prevents them from spreading this around? What EULA did they agree to? They aren't breaking a contract, since they didn't SIGN a contract.

    There's one strange phenomenon I experience after a lot of coding: it feels like my hands are connected directly to my shoulders, and my eyes seem to zoom in so the screen fills my vision. I code faster and better, but it's really weird. Does anyone else get this?

    Sure do... For me it happens after a few hours.
