In addition to what Sycraft-fu said: the fact that there was one successful attack doesn't somehow mean that were aren't armed to the teeth and ready to take down anything in the sky.
But what if there really were assassins? He thought he was safe because he was paying those people all that money, when really he was in just as much danger as he was in before?
It does assume those things. Even assuming all of those points, you still end up with an amount significantly less than the 1.5 million dollars currently on the table.
If we go ahead and make the charges punitive it still provides an incentive to do the right thing. (100% chance of paying the full price vs. 100% chance of paying a higher price.) Take all the worst-case assumptions and make them pay for all of them. You'll still only come up with a few thousand dollars. That's a fair punishment.
Wasn't there supposed to be a gearbox on the initial model, but they couldn't find one that would work with the torque?
That would give you a higher top speed without sacrificing your acceleration (much). My source for this is Top Gear, so if I'm completely off the mark please accept my apologies.
People invariably make over-the-top claims about this and every other scientific advance. This won't cure every blind person in the world by next Tuesday, sorry. That doesn't mean, however, that being completely jaded is justified. This is a fantastic step forward in man-machine interfaces. A blind man can now read the time off a clock. This is a progression from those experiments you were so jaded about last time. What will the next set of experiments give us? Colour? Will you still be jaded then?
A few elections ago in Australia there was a comedy show called 'The Election Chaser.' One of the segments was talking to people on the street who were completely clueless about politics then finishing it with a voice over saying 'This person votes!'
That's being a little unfair. Take Houston, Texas for example. There are loads of trucks around here. Last winter it snowed twice! Close to an inch each time! If we weren't all driving trucks do you know what would have happened?
I once played a 3rd person shooter called Gunlok. It had an active pause mode, where you could pause your game, give your guy a set of orders and then he does it.
Since then I've wished every RTS I've played has had that feature. When you see the enemy approaching you just slip into active pause, give all your guys their defensive orders, and then you just need to react to the outcomes of each battle rather than trying to keep everything straight right from the start.
If you've got $300 to spend on a meal and you're in Houston. Check out Marks in Montrose. Dinner for 2 will set you back about $300, but it'll be fantastic. Hard to say that it's worth it, but it's the best meal I've ever had.

I'd wager a guess that the Communications Act is his cite.
I could link to the xkcd, but I do play all my games on a 5 year lag. Sometimes even longer...
The article also says that he ate protein shakes, multivitamins and vegetables. So much hype in such a small summary.

Power is the prime motive for most of it. Religion is the tool used to acquire power. Follow the trail all the way to the end.
Only stupid people say "trust the experts because we don't have degrees in this". You'd be better off not talking to them.

I still don't get it :(
Maybe I need some of that current.
Cool, thanks for the link!

Apparently, yes!

What sort of punishment should I get if I steal 24 songs and then give them to other people outside the store?
Correlation may not equal causation, but for these purposes, it's close enough.
Yet the poor people tend to vote Republican and the rich people tend to vote Democrat.
Fucked up.
It just dipped below 70 here. I had to wear a coat.
Yeah, they may have well posted an ask slashdot saying 'have an argument about politics.'
You didn't need to use those last three words...
Also, we pretty much stay inside all the time anyway.

Kinda made me a little scared...
Preferential voting for the win!
Vote 1, A; vote 2, B; vote 3, C. Lobby for real electoral change!
Protip: Read point B in the post to which you are replying.

Yeah, driving small cars on snow and ice is really stupid. If you try to do that you'd need to go real slow and take it real careful. Like these people are doing:
