If it takes you 15 minutes to switch to Windows because you have to save all your stuff there is something wrong with the way you work. You're doing far too many things at the same time, which is bad for productivity. Try to finish one task before starting another.
The video is really cool, but was it a real car or a computer model? And I wonder how the fabric behaves at high speeds. And how do you wash the car? I have loads of other questions but I think the concept is fantastic. Cars that can change shape! Mmmmm...:)

That may be so but those tractor-trailers don't know how to go 140 km/h. And the tractor-trailer drivers have had lessons in how to handle such a large machine on the road.

Luckily it did. Our roads are not made for cars as big as houses. SUV's are like the old iPhone: they seem to promise a lot, but when you look more closely you see that they don't perform well in any category. They only look good, if you're into ridiculously big outrageous cars.
Can't this guy Thunderfoot just put a text file on the web somewhere? I hate those videos in which people show text and read them aloud. I read much faster than they speak.
I think this is a bit over the top. Many people lost relatives or friends in the quake. Some entertainment can help them get over the grief. Now they're constanty reminded of the quake by the media. That can't be good for them.
Frpm TFA: Imposing the limitations solves a number of problems for the PC industry, said industry analyst Roger Kay, president of EndPoint Technologies Associates. "It allows PC makers to offer a low-cost alternative, and it prevents eroding of pricing and margins in the mainstream OS market," he said.
It also stifles progress but of course that is not so important. And I'd like to know what the EU has to say about this new monopoly abuse from MS.
No way I'm going to use that. Stealing data and claiming it to be yours is pretty common in the scientific world. I won't publish my data anywhere in any form but an article in a peer reviewed journal thank you. I worked hard to get my data and work out all the difficulties and I want the credit for it.
Yeah... for me it would mean that a lot of equipment I use for my work in nanofabrication is suddenly unusable. How could the human race ever have let it come that far?
From what I hear from my system administrator at my university, the IT staff there would be very very happy when they can finally replace all the crappy exchange servers for something else. And I guess that goes for more stuff. Hey! No virus checkers! No IE!! The time that saves is way more than the time it takes to exchange everything MS!

So they are essentialy non-identical twins :)

I hate SUVs with a passion. Glad to see them go.
I guess when my evil twin gets hold of my shiny new face-recognizing laptop I'm doomed.
My bank uses this system to confirm payments. It works very well and is easy to use.
I guess many evangelists can't wait to go there to ruin their culture by 'making them see the light'.
You told us the answer already. Why bother us with the question then?
So people who buy Apples are cheap!
No. It's mud.
Doesn't every extension to an ISO standard have to be approved too?
You can say all negative things you will about it, but this is a great victory for ODF.

Apple software on Windows is about as horrible as MS software on OSX I reckon.

You must be quite sick in the head to come up with these things.
I bet GPSIII will be operational way before Galileo is. The way we handle big projects here in Europe is appalling.

Isn't it logical to use Flash since almost nobody has Silverlight yet? MS needs people to be able to view their webpages, so it can sell its products.

Yep, I wouldn't want to deal with them either ;) Then again, I live in the Netherlands. We wagged like a dog when Bush went to Iraq. Sigh.
Fining them is better than saying "Don't do it again, naughty MS!" and wagging a finger at them...
