Recently I had to go to the hospital for a small operation. So I called in sick and went there. Due to complications I was not at work for over six weeks. I read my work-email but I didn't reply to it. And the best part was, when colleagues called me they wouldn't talk about work! "Get better first", they told me.
But I got really pissed of Windows when it told me that my copy of XP was pirated... when it came PREINSTALLED in my HP Pavillion ZV5000 machine... which has a Microsoft Windows XP Proffessional 1-2CPU sticker under it. Oh, And it wont allow getting into my computer "windows can not verify the genuinity of this software"... FUCK YOU!!.
For me that would be a reason to instantly replace the original version with a pirated one. If they sell you a copy that is DOA then I think you have the right to replace it with something that works.
I hope Vista will be delivered with an included Knoppix CD to make sure you can access your files after Vista has been deactivated by MS because you bought a new mousemat!
Come on, TB is not that bad. But it's unusable if you often log in to a Linux/Unix server from a Windows machine using ssh. I know a few people who do that often. They all use Pine because it's perfect for that. Runs in a terminal and has all the features you want. I've used it myself for about 8 years before switching to Thunderbird.
I don't understand completely what Intellectual Property Ballmer is talking about. SMB? Or is there more? And is he right about Linux using MS's IP, or is he just bullshitting?
That isn't funny, it's the truth! I also did that. I had a C=64. After hassling with cassettes a lot for a few years, I bought a disk drive. I used all my savings for that thing (I was 14 or 15 at the time so 600 Dutch guilders was a lot of money for me), and never regretted it.
I thought Christmas was about being together en caring about other people. We must be happy that all these gadgets are delayed and/or cancelled, because that leaves us more time to spend with our loved ones!
You must live somewhere high. I live in the Netherlands, and with the water levels rising half our country is threatened by flooding. I do fear the global warming.
I find it strange that there are so many people who all have different experiences with FF. For me it just works, regardless of which version it is, and regarless of the OS I run it on (Windows, Linux, or OS X).
Many people at the moment are waiting for Vista to arrive before buying new hardware. With the prices of Macs these days, it doesn't really matter wether you buy an Apple or a good Windows box. Many people are fed up with all the viruses etc they have to cope with every day, so OS X is a good alternative to MS for more and more people.
Me too. If I don't recognize the sender OR understand within one second what the subject header means, the mail goes in the bin. I don't get much mail from unknown persons at work, but if I do these persons better make sure their subject header is to the point and understandable otherwise it's their bad luck.
Electricity is usually much more expensive than gas. So keeping a computer switched on because it generates heat is a waste of money if you use anything other than electricity for heating your house.

I love my job and the people I work with.
Sometimes one gets depressed and one says things like that.

But... isn't that boycotting MS?

Wasn't there ICQ back then? I think that is prior art to at least some parts of the patent.
One heart, please.

A woman, I would say.
Embrace and extinguish.
Ouch that's hard... but maybe you can take your husband to a party downtown and meet some new people?

But don't all search engines on the web track all searches? AOL comes to mind...
Does anyone use MS' web search page? After its introduction with much noise I've never heard anything about that anymore.
they will have had the best first quarter ever, with all the new sales thanks to Vista.
Me too.
Bart,
Hier en daar zweven nog wat W3C/HTML4.0 plaatjes in de tekst. De website is zo groot dat ik hem niet helemaal bekeken heb.
Succes, Willem
Bart,
Your website acts a bit strange on FF 2.0. Pictures on the text. Take a look at it, it doesn't come over very professionally this way.
Moderators, please mod me down OT.

Nice sig, BTW
