Well, the only difference I see is that Mozilla at least runs on many OS'es. But you got a good point there.

But if you want to run Linux you would buy a PC. It's no use buying an X-box just to run Linux on it. And if you want a game console only then maybe you buy a PS/2 or something else. It's the combination game console/Linux that does the trick.

  3. Re:Stupidity on Xbox Receives Linux Mandrake 9.0 · · Score: 4, Insightful

That's not stupid, that's brilliant marketing. The fact that you can run Linux on it will now be a reason to buy an X-box, so MS now earns money with Linux, and it didn't cost them anything! Bill never ceases to amaze me.

  5. Pong on High Score · · Score: 2

I remember playing pong on a game computer a friend of my parents had built himself. That was in the late 70's. I was too young then to realize this was the beginning of a revolution in time-wasting techniques. One year or so later we had a machine that not only could play pong but also a few other ball games. Cool!

Off-topic, I know, but I found your sig interesting. I saw a few documantaries about the Palistinians and looked up up more information. It's amazing: this is a people that has been suppressed and humiliated for more than 3000 years! It all began when the Israelites invaded the 'land of milk and honey' as described in the Bible. 8. Serious on Microsoft's Vision Of Future Workplaces · · Score: 2

You can laugh about this but in the end most software is bought by pointy-hairs who are mightily impressed by features like this. Microsoft knows this better than anyone I guess. So if we want Linux to make it on the desktop we'd better make sure these features are developed soon!

Well, you know, the society of Arthur Dent and Ford prefect was a lot more complicated than that of the old Egyptians. So 'everything' for the old Egyptians is a lot less than for them. Therefore I think for the old Egyptians the answer to life, the universe and everything lies around 35 or so.

  10. Good Thing? on Stopping Palladium? · · Score: 2

Maybe it's good to let Palladium come around. Lots of dissatisfied customers will complain and not buy new hardware for a long time. Hopefully Microsoft will then lose some of its arrogance and start acting normally.

I heard somewhere that one of the reasons Europe is slow on the uptake of Interenet is that we have had Teletext since the early 80's, and therefore 'instant news' was regarded as not that big a deal here. Don't know if that's true, and another reason will certainly be the high telephone costs here in Europe.
