This is exactly why I hate the App store. Apple has far too much control over its iPhone, stifling competition and hindering progress The iPhone is just a little computer that you can make phonecalls with. If Apple started to sell Macs on which you could only install new software using iTunes and the App store nobody would buy them. Then why is it OK for the iPhone to have this construction? I bet if the App store didn't exist we would at least have a beta version of FF for the iPhone now.
On the Mac I need Safari to download Firefox. But after that I am able to remove Safari since I don't need it for updates or what have you. That's the whole point.
You're so right. The EU has no backbone whatsoever. America is our friend, so we must do everything to please it. Disgusting. Someone said Merkel is bad, well, the NL PM Jan Peter Balkenende is much much worse. He couldn't wait to go to Iraq to please his buddy George. And now that that turned out to be maybe not such a good idea, he doesn't want a public investigation. Coward. We have the worst government we ever had. I wish I lived in Belgium since they don't have a government there.
Yes I am aware of the inverse square law. My point was that if the hippies really suffer from what they claim, they must be very sensitive to electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range because WiFi usually transmits using even less power than a mobile phone. So if they use mobile phones but say they suffer from the WiFi radiation they're likely to be affected by somethning else. I should have written it down more clearly though.
I read once that people who work on the antennas in mobile communication towers suffer from headaches, dizziness, nausea, severe tiredness, brain fog, disorientation and loss of appetite, loss of balance, and an inability to concentrate if they are exposed to the radiation for too long. So maybe those hippies are just extremely sensitive people. Do they use mobile phones?
Is Digg getting so bad now all the adolescent fanbois are flocking to slashdot? I think I will start reading at +2 instead of +1 to be rid of clueless people like you. You didn't even answer my post, just put in the standard fanboi reply. Get out of the basement for a while and look around. There's more to life than Linux you know.
When does yours? I really don't get what you're on about. Have you read the rest of my post? Have you realized that in the real world there are things more important than open source software, like, for instance, getting work done?
If it uses mirrors to focus light in its eyes it doesn't need lenses. And the use of mirrors means no chromatic abberation, which means a sharper image! What a smart 'design.' The things Nature comes up with never cease to amaze me.
I think open standards are much more important than open source software. The ability to use your favorite program to get a certain task accomplished without having to worry about compatibility problems is worth much more than wether you use open source or not. I would much rather use Pages instead of OpenOffice if it only would support ODF, for instance.
Certainly. And I still think Linux is a fantastic OS, far better than Vista or Windows 7 or even OSX can ever be. It falls short on the desktop, however.
I'm so happy to have switched from Linux to OSX. After 10 years of jumping through hoops to get simple things done, struggling with software that's far behind in capabilities and ease of use compared to commercial software, and listening to conversations like this (it's crap now but in a few weeks/months/years...) I'd had enough. Now I have a system that works most of the time. And that is worth every penny I paid for it.
Linux users are pathetic useless nerds. The only way to use Linux productively is to have no social contacts because it's compatible with nothing. Everybody knows that.

I don't need cocaine you insensitive clod! Linux rules! 2009 will be Teh Year of Teh Linux! Die, M$!

Read my post again then. I blame the inadequacies of my government on my government.

Wow, 7000 dollars for 4 m of cable! I think I will start my own Super Super HiFi equipment company!
Oh yes! I can see it now!
It doesn't have breasts, a nice smile and beautiful [fill in your favorite color] hair.
And who the hell modded this informative? Clueless moderators.
Who modded this flamebait? There's nothing remotely flaming in this post.

Thanks, FishWithAHammer. Nice to see that there are still reasonable people on /.. I have the feeling that there are more and more fanbois here lately.

Yeah, Nature is smart isn't she? ;)

It's been done before.
Gimp and Inkscape work fine if you install X on OSX. It's on the DVD's that came with your MBP.
That's why we don't have juries in NL. Let professionals deal with legal stuff, not laymen.
I've used Linux longer than you have lived, considering the way you dare speak to me.
