Attack of the Clones. I haven't seen the movie, yet. But, I can guess from the title what happens. And, it poses a question: Could clones be used as valueless, expendable shells of men for military purposes. I mean, could not some country say to itself "We'll clone people and raise an entire army really quickly (like the Brave New World batches)."
One little very minor touch up though:

There were some spaces that snuck into the URLs. For those whom they don't work for, just take out the space after the last "t" in "QuartzExtremeTest" and they should work fine.
On the browser you use. For instance, my favorite browser, Omniweb [http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omniweb/] has some really nice ad blocking features. Not only can you block out images from ad related sites, with a built in filter, but you can also disable pop up and pop under ads whilst still leaving JavaScripting enabled. And, even in the beta release that I currently use, Omniweb actually feels nicer than a lot of commercial browsers out there.
Additional: For those who aren't aware of Omniweb, it should be noted that it's Mac OS X only. It would be nice to see if they'd port it to other OSes, but that might involve a port of Cocoa as well.
Sorry, but in defense of the Mac, I've seen real world examples where many of the best programmers in the world were Mac users. And Tim Berners Lee, inventor of the Web, used NeXT, which is basically Mac OS X today. Okay, there are differences, but the concepts are the same. Sorry, but the rumor about Mac-heads/artists not being technical simply isn't true. Heck, if it was, there wouldn't be an "Apple" section on one of the most technical discussion boards [apple.slashdot.org] around, would there?
Just wanted to dispel rumors that really are *hack-cough-wheeze* unfounded, in many cases. But, don't worry, rumors are that way: unfounded.
Wouldn't it be great, if the next OS X release had built in PC emulation? That way, Apple wouldn't be an OEM for MSFT, but they could still claim full compatability with such systems. That, and the release of OS X for Intel (or taking over the manufacturing of CPUS - unlikely with Motorolla and IBM doing it for them) would be a huge boon to sales.
I'm not sure about the other (commercial or open source) browsers. However, I use a Mac OS X Cocoa broswer, called Omniweb [http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omniweb/]. It has a feature where the user can stop loading individual parts of a page. For instance, say you're loading a page with 60 images. Normally, you'd click the stop or back button in a browser. In Omniweb, the text would still load - but you could stop loading some of the larger images.
"Let's make a dent in the Universe." - Steve Jobs Apple started with gray computers. The universe is gray. Apple now has turquoise (or used to) computers. The Universe should be turquoise. Where's the freakin' dent? Grr...!
As a Mac user, I'm aware of Apple's famous 1984 TV ad. George Orwell talks about citizens being over the top fanatics. Apple said they were against that future in their commercial. I am forced to wonder, sometimes.
your letter did have one mistake.
Does Blizzard really care which OS you use, as long as they can generate money from it?
I, being a Mac user, have no love for Microsoft.
However, to outright criticize another business using much the same techniques as Blizzard (or worse as is MS's case) to protect their " Intellectual Property" is not going to help them see your position.
One customer's decision will not sway an entire company, I'm sorry to say. What will though, is pointing out how they're harming themselves in doing this decision.
... Steve Jobs saying something to the effect of:
" We believe that pirating (music) is a cultural issue, not a technology issue. "
No matter how hard they try, people will always find a way past these things. I hate MS, but as a suggestion to them, make it less -desirable- to have your products pirated.
Uhm... actually, you are doing that already.
If I recall correctly, Steve Jobs said of Computers and TVs that (at least in Apple's strategy) they'd never merge. I guess this all depends on perspective.
By now, we all know the "digital hub" strategy that Apple's brining about. You see, the Mac (and in a larger sense the PC) is not dead. It's just shifting its usage.
Call me an ignorant fool, but I've never heard of " RDF " before. The only company I could possibly see this attached to is Apple or Pixar. The Reality Distortion field is the only thing I'm aware this could stand for.

And it seems as if you could do with a more constructive hobby than bashing the Slashdot community? Perhaps, maybe, next time you could try contributing to the discussion. Or if you don't know about the topic, read the level 5 posts and learn. But, don't come in here with ignorance bashing those who know what they're talking about.
I have noticed a very odd trend here. Many of you claim that Microsoft is " the devil " and other such terms. I agree with you, as a Mac user. But, what I don't get is this: why do you set Microsoft products as the standard to which you must aspire? Surely if your Linux is to cause a revolution, you should set the bar higher. No offense, but what new CLASS of applications has Linux spawned? Really? Has any new type of program come out? Games, Productivity suites, development tools, browsers! Heck, we get those on other systems too. No real advantage there. Create a killer app for Linux. And no, being a server, will not lure people into buying Linux as a desktop OS.
Sun makes servers. Do they have a share in the desktop? No. I have to ask myself what Linux is to become. I like to see how things will end up. As with the original Unix, Linux is plagued by too much forking. What needs to be done is U-Linux. Unified Linux that takes only the most efficient ideas and not I-made-this-so-let's-put-it-in ideas. Am I clear here? Once there is a unified force and not forking to guide the growth of Linux, I could see some real potential for it.
And secondly, create a killer-class. I mean of applications. Invent something new! Seriously, you guys say open source is new and innovative. So, rather than trying to be in MS's shadow (or rather Apple's) do something unheard of before.
Perhaps create a new paradime of interacting with computers. It's extremely annoying to see Apple (honestly, they do) as the company pushing and making tech interesting to the average consumer and well, keeping innovation alive. Beat Apple, not MS. Believe me, it's a much harder goal. But, the results would be staggering.
OK, you know.. if there was some sort of grammar recognizing Perl or CGI script that could link to a dictionary. Something that gives the basic structure of an English sentence and if something violates that structure it doesn't get posted. *shrugs* But I'm not sure if that would work.

Thanks for clarifying. And, yes, when put it that way, I do agree completely.
