    3. You see a troll post that is commonly posted on Slashdot about how BSD is dying on every BSD news article, and sometimes is posted outside of BSD.

How would the GP know now that there aren't many articles on BSD anymore since it's dying. :P

What also amazes me is that people feel they are somewhat superior to others because they don't. And that they think they'll actually get people to listen to them by treating them as such.

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Unfortunately, most anti-religious people are covered in vinegar nowadays.

Given that more extreme folks tend to be louder and the more passive tend to be quieter out of avoiding conflict, you have no ground to make that claim. We call that confirmation bias.

I don't think you can look forward to consumer 1 THz cpus anytime soon. IIRC, the largest theoretical chip you can have driven uniformly by a 1 gHz clock is 225 sqr cm (15 cm x.15 cm). Pretty fricken' big, actually. The largest theoretical uniform 10 gHz chip is 2.25 sqr cm (1.5 cm x 1.5 cm). Okay size for a general gpu. 100gHz ~ 2.25 sqr mm (1.5 mm x 1.5 mm). Pretty bloody tiny, if you ask me. 1 THz? 0.025 sqr mm, or 22,500 sqr um (150 um x 150 um).

That is, if I remember correctly how to calculate maximum size. I assume light travels 30 cm in a second, and distances on a chip are measured using the taxi-cab metric.

This isn't opinion, this is mathematical fact that 0.999...=1.
    Let x = 0.99999...

So mulptiple both sides by 10:
    - 10*x = 9.99999...
    Subtract x from both sides
    - 10*x - x = 9.99999... - x
Substitute 0.9999.... for x on the right side
    - 10*x - x = 9.99999... - 0.99999...
    Simplify:
    - 9*x = 9
    Therefore:
    - x = 1
